Reminds me of the year we went down and last season when we almost did, you get a win and then see all the teams around you won.

Luton and Plymouth with big wins but Derby and Hull getting wins keeping them in the drop zone

So. Buoyed on by a brilliant performance today (and also a couple cans) I've had a little look and I don't think we're dead and buried yet. Cynics look away now and the rest of you bear with me as we make some big assumptions and ignore some bigger contradictions...

Assumption 1 - Rovers will win the next 3 matches. I know, I know but that's the only way this works, if you can't accept this then skip the post. We probably also need a few goals within those matches but if we play as we did today that won't be an issue.

Assumption 2 - anyone can beat anyone in this league - I think this is a bit easier to accept  particularly towards the end of the season but is slightly contradictory of #1

Assumption 3 - leeds are the best team in the league and will show that (this is very important...)

Assumption 4 - millwall and West brom will not win all their remaining 3 fixtures - all we need is a draw somewhere and we're golden

Assumption 5 - Middlesbrough will not win twice - classic Boro, who knows which team will turn up on any given day

If you're still with me after those 5 then you're a true believer and the next bits won't be an issue for you I'm sure.

Bristol City - need 2 pts to ensure they finish ahead of Rovers. They play Luton away next and only just beat an unmotivated Sunderland who were down to 10 from the 7th minute. Accepting assumption #2 means this is 0 pts. They then play leeds and obviously accepting #3 that's also 0 pts. That means they go into the final day needing a win against PNE as their (at best) +8 gd will be under threat from our (at worst) +5 gd.

Coventry - need 3 pts to definitely finish ahead of Rovers. Play Plymouth next who just beat Sheff Utd, then Luton who, as we know, have just spanked Bristol City. Even if they get a draw from one of these games (highly unlikely) they will need to win their last game against Middlesbrough as again their gd is under threat from a resurgent Blackburn Rovers.

All in all then, I've booked my Travelodge for Wembley.

I'd love to know why Brownhill gets a free pass on a yellow card every game.

Let's him have far more influence on the game than he should be able to when he's just allowed to disrupt an attack with a late / cynical foul and not be punished for it.

i think wilder has lost the plot, why would you have kieffer moore leading the line instead of cannon, who you`ve pushed out wide, moore is a donkey who can`t finish (as illustrated in the very first minute)

It's funny how Sheffield United have bottled it because Wilder is an unlikable man.

putting two of your best players on the bench and starting with an immobile object is`nt the best way to go about winning a match,he is very unlikeable!!!! i agree,i don`t think they`ll get through the play offs either

Personally I think Moore is a handful at this level - I'd always play him.

This Burnley defender they're all chanting the name of (Ste, or something?) has been out of position a few times and had to put in last ditch tackles. He'll get murdered in the Prem.

If you hadn’t have had that first promotion under Dyche none of this would have happened - you were going nowhere pre his appointment.

You’ve a lot to thank him for.

They should thank the bloke whose idea it was to appoint him. Dyche was going nowhere as well.

1-1 .... I've been following the Clarets too long to get over excited with a 1-0 lead ...

I've been hating them too long to get over excited with them conceding a goal.

In fairness I’ve been following Rovers long enough that the last place I’d be during a promotion match is a Burnley forum!

A lot of Burnley fans follow Rovers more than their own club.

You've only got to look at the Rovers Facebook page for proof.

The fact is that Burnley fans can easily " multi-task ", and we also know the meaning of the word " schadenfreude ", even though, in a recent survey, only 29% of us can spell it ...

PNE sweating

Only 3 points above relegation zone after today

Absolutely fucking love it if they went down. I've never really been bothered by them tbh but they're absolutely insufferable on twitter, giving it the big un not so long back, that they would finish above us.

Proper drainers, it would be hilarious to see them relegated.

Is that because of the extra fingers?

The sympathetic mask is slipping a little there
