I really don’t have the same hostility towards Derby or Eustace that most seem to have, I don’t care if they stay up or go down. In my mind history won’t have Eustace as a villain in our story

That doesn’t make it right. What am I meant to do, plan my calendar for Friday nights only 4 weeks in advance at this stage of the season.

It means I’ve bought a season ticket and it’s another game I’ve been fucked over for. Still, at least rovers have used the extra money to pay fat cat Waggots increased salary and bonus.

I doubt, I will bother with a season ticket next year, Saturday lunch games are not for me, plus the Waggott factor..

Given I work in Preston and my shift has a few PNE fans it was shit last season when we lost at Ewood Park on a Friday night and it was shit going in, but superb this season when we beat them. Great shift

This particular situation seemingly does affect chaddy negatively, albeit in a quite minor way.

But hes backed himself so far into a corner that he cant even bring himself to be annoyed.

The argument put forward to defend moving so many games this season from sky was "justified" by him because at least they gave months of notice before moving a ridiculous 7 games to each Saturday dinnertime each week. Now they have reverted back to type for half a season and even thats supposedly not an issue.

I get the frustration of fixture moves, absolute pain in the arse for me on a Friday.

What I can't get my head around though, is why, in 2025 are people still booking trains and hotels for games months away when that weekends TV games haven't been selected yet?

That's not aimed at anyone on here just what I read on various clubs social media pages when a game is moved.

Also, this is all on the clubs for accepting a ridiculous new TV deal for a few extra quid, Sky have paid there money and are well within there right to move games to whenever they want.

Whilst some home supporters are inconvenienced it's usually the travelling away fans who have difficulties. This season we have had two long distance away matches at Watford and Cardiff changed to 12.30 for Sky coverage. Leaving home at 6.30 just isn't right and will affect supporters decision whether to go or not and travelling by public transport makes it even more difficult.

Norwich had what I believe to be one of their smallest away followings at Ewood last week for which the 12.30 kick off had to be the main reason. Although QPR aren't the best supported club away from home I'm sure there would have been more than the reported 400 had it not been 12.30.

When the clubs voted for the extra games and greater revenue they knew how inconvenienced some fans would be. It would have been nice for the clubs to subsidise travel or tickets for such games. Instead we have a CEO who gets a huge pay rise.

Updated list:

3pm Saturday home 'traditional' games:

Watford, Millwall (Good Friday), Cardiff, Plymouth, Hull (Xmas), Sunderland (Boxing Day), Luton, Swansea, Bristol City, Oxford

Home games moved for TV or other nonsense:

Middlesbrough, Norwich, Wolves (FA Cup), PNE, Dingles, Leeds, Sheff Utd, QPR, Derby

Midweek home games:

Sheff Wed, Coventry, Portsmouth (postponed), Stoke, WBA, 

Away games at 'traditional' 3pm Saturday:

Sheff Utd (guaranteed to be moved for TV as final day of the season), Sunderland (Easter Monday), Luton, Portsmouth, Derby, Swansea, Bristol City, Oxford, Millwall, Leeds (New Years Day), Hull, Plymouth, Norwich

Away games moved for TV / other nonsense:

Middlesbrough (FA Cup), Cardiff, Watford, PNE, Dingles

Away games midweek:

WBA, QPR, Sheff Wed, Middlesbrough, Coventry, Stoke

 

As it stands 10 of our 23 home league games at 3pm kick off, including Xmas and Easter fixtures

8 moved for tv or other excuses

5 in the midweek slots, one of which was the Portsmouth postponement

The penny doesn't seem to have yet dropped at Ewood that this diminishes the value of the product and a season ticket, evidenced by lower numbers turning up for those early/midweek fixtures.

They simply must significantly drop season ticket prices in this case, and choose one stand to almost give them away in. Obvious choice is the Riverside.

Already been announced by the EFL that the Championship last day will all kick off at 12:30, Rovers haven't bothered to let anyone know yet though.

Midweek games or Friday night games have affected me for the last 5 years with me working nights and having to lose 3 hours sleep to attend the game and still go to work afterwards, But would I chose to attend games and its my choice. I could miss the games but that would just pissed me off. 

I take from your comments you have never done a night shift?

The facts of the situation is the EFL and the clubs wanted greater revenue from TV rights and the only way that could be achieve is more games on TV and. The terms of how fans would be told was clearly announce and publish before the season. So fans knew where they stood regarding moving of games for TV coverage. You loved blaming Sky, when actually it the clubs and the EFL you should be blaming not Sky

But the fans didn't have a say in any of this. It was foisted on the fans by clubs who simply saw one thing. 

I wouldn't mind as much if the clubs were mandated to reduce ticket prices or any ventures that made the watching of live football cheaper and a better experience. Instead the money will go into the pockets of players, agents and in Rovers case directors.

As I said though the travelling fans are the group who sufferer the most. I don't think you go to many away games so it won't impact on you as much as others but at least try and see it from their point of view.
