Popular Post OsloRover
Nothing Pears could do about the first one, if anything it was Carter who lost his man. Still need a new keeper but some of the criticism is unfair.

Forever Blue
Impressed with our 2 new strikers. We still lack pace and a GK.

Backroom Popular Post DE. Posted August 9, 2024 Backroom Popular Post Share Posted August 9, 2024 Can't grumble with an opening day win. New signings up top looking good. Not convinced by the usual suspects who were still suspect at various points. Special shout out to Pears who seems desperate to prove why he needs to be replaced as soon as possible. Bizarre game really. First 30 minutes we were comfortable, looking good. Next 40 minutes either side of the break we were absolutely dire - completely lost momentum and confidence. The pressure grew and grew until the inevitable equaliser. Fair play to Eustace, though, his triple sub changed the game in our favour and our superior quality shone through in the end. Derby's defending was abysmal, though - in the sense it was non-existent. Conceding a second was annoying, but further proof we need a new goalkeeper and pressure on Waggott, Suhail and Gestede to deliver on that. Will be gutting when Sammie leaves. What a player he's turned out to be for us.
Mars Rover
The main positive for Rovers is they're currently not the worst team in the league. There needs to be a strong end to the window to guarantee it stays like that.
rigger
People mentionimg Tony Field have got me excited, all we need now is a Roger Jones-a-like.

But actually very excited. Knew there was a reason. Now Ohashi and Gueye superfans
yankfan
3 points closer to staying up! Sammie getting one and assisting another in likely his last game is brilliant. Class finish by Ohashi. Defending the set pieces needs to improve but 3 points in the bag

Tugay-is-God
Everything else aside, I've never seen a less smiley Sammie. I mean, I know we all know he's off. At least he still put in the effort though.

blue and whites
Nothing we did not skrevet know. We need a new goalkeeper, fullbacks and wingers who can track back. Fullbacks far to often on their own. And we need to keep hold of szmod! what s finish from yuki!
rovers11
That was impressive. New signings look very, very good. And we actually have a decent subs bench this season. Derby have a very poor set of players so there will be much tougher tests ahead but we can enjoy tonight.
neophox
This game has surely upped Szmodicz value...don't think Ipswich can afford him...but maybe another prem team comes in for him..Ipswich will be relegated this season anyway ...

Exiled in Toronto Mk2
Very easy on the eye in our good spells, without some of the daftness of JDT-ball. Stand-out moments from Carter, who beat 6 Derby players with his surge then drag back, Sammy being £15m Sammy and then Ohashi’s chip. Pears awful, wings weak, JRC far from convincing. Three of those goals don’t happen if we still had the donkey, kudos to Gestede for making us better and Eustace for good tactics and subbing.
SpaceBarSlam
The big difference I felt in that second half was looking out at the team and thinking we had an *experienced* team out there. There are areas we definitely need to strengthen, a new #1 is absolutely essential, but I don't feel completely pessimistic about our chances this season. Have to say, for all his limitations, was great seeing Trav back in as captain. Vocal, lots of communication with the young, new lads throughout.
booth
Brilliant goals, brilliant result but tells half a story. We really need a goalie, a quick winger and... That defence terrifies me. Derby were crap but I felt like they were going to score every time they went forward. We won't score 4 every game.
Forever Blue
I hope we sign more Japanese lads. Hash looked a class act.
