Man of the match John Eustace. It will be a big difference maker this season that we are able to change our forward players around like that.

As for the players both rovers tv and the PA gave it to Travis, which I agree with. Probably missed him more than we knew while he was at Ipswich. Other than that obviously Sammie was fantastic.

Great effort by all debutants. Derby must have had 20 corners but to concede two is disappointing nonetheless. Great spirit to score just after they got a deserved equaliser. Travis had a good game as well, both ways. Very good game.

He did well on Dolans goal to help on Gueye’s cross

Was starting to look all so familiar when they grabbed the equaliser.

Fair play though JE, probably the best use of substitutes I can ever remember, wouldn't be surprised if its some sort of record 3 subs scoring like that!

Worrying how we got caught out numerous times on set pieces, although credit to Derby they were very good on them, mixed them up and clearly practiced them rather a lot in training.

Promising debuts all round which was pleasing, especially when you consider a few were new to the championship and none of them fully fit.

Derby weren't great though it has to be said, but their set pieces will probably pick a few points up along the way.

A bigger test awaits next league game.....

Sigurdsson is yet to show up properly and doesn't have the workrate unfortunately. If he doesn't produce goals/assists then he's a luxury player we can't afford to put in the side. Vale should be sold or given away, Markanday has shown glimpses but he's League 1 standard.

Lovely goal by Osashi nice chip.  Pears just scares me to death.  Good save from the corner but he really invited it with his positioning.  Wins a win, some good spots and some not so good at all.  Happy enough for now.

Eustace gets his first home win in the league as Rovers' manager and delighted for him, players and the fans.

Pluses:

• Started on the front foot with good intensity
• Gueye looks a real handful and much more useful and much more of a threat than Gallagher
• Ohashi took his goal superbly - showed great calmness and intelligence
• Szmodics showed what he was all about - terrific movement in the box to create the space and opportunity.  Sadly, it looked as though he was saying goodbye to the fans at the end
• Thought Travis had his best game in the Rovers' shirt for some time - his driving run for our first goal reminiscent of when he first broke into the team

Negatives:

• Pears - so unconvincing.  Will cost us many goals and points unless replaced.  Chris Sutton was brutally frank in the pre match stuff
• Defensively - conceded from two set pieces, better teams than Derby will punish us even more.  We can't afford to be conceding 2+ goals per game again
• JRC looked lost - nowhere near as effective than when coming from deep 
• Little creativity in midfield - missed Wharton, or player of that type, enormously

Enjoyed the match, enjoyed my winnings on Rovers' win and time to uncork a nice red in celebration after the curry and beers.

Got to agree with a lot of the comments, played well but Pears and the back four do not make it easy for ourselves, Like the look of Gueye and Ohasi, good start 3 points, lets get a better keeper in and a few more players and aim for a better season than a relegation scrap

Hyam played well tonight too.

We started off brightly and with intent. Some good passing but slowed down towards the break, only for Derby to grab the bull by both horns and give us a proper fight. Good to see we're up for one!

Wasn’t sure about the new signings, but they looked like they’ll at least be able to cut it on tonight’s evidence.

Thought Gueye ran out of gas after the first half, but his hold up play and physical presence was pretty good.

Yuki-san has the makings of a cult figure.  The workrate and the spaces he was taking up were great.  And that finish!  Beautiful.
