Then I said that he sent a video message to my son last season and thanks for that and he just nodded. No real warmth or pleasantries and I have spoken to him before and he was alot more spritely. Just my observation but seems a bit pissy in tone and body language, Friday and tonight. What was the fingers in the ears celebration about tonight? 🤔

Rover8T4
Professional performance. Unlucky not to keep a clean sheet, Corner placed a nice height across the 6 yard box with pears glued to his line again.

AspRover
you can only beat what's in front of you but still good to see the likes of Buckley, Siggy, Vale, Duru and the new lads putting in a decent showing. Maybe they are a bit more up for it than we thought.

Seems to have a weak shot and poor efforts. Does his all round play make up for it? Do we think he will improve when he is sharper? What was the fingers in the ears celebration about tonight? 🤔 Yeah, he’s not projecting a happy demeanour, is he? Funny one with that celebration, but also his goal on Friday. Started off like he was doing the “I’m not going to celebrate at my former club’s ground,” this before realising he still played for us.
Popular Post Hatter1
Well that was interesting.... and predictable, in that we couldn't even manage to go this game without another injury. Anyways, well done on a professional performance (and not scoring double figures) and good luck for the next round. I hope we meet again some time soon (the Championship ideally....) and we're in a position to make it a proper game in front of a packed EP (whether Edgeley or Ewood or both).
RoverCanada
In 16 senior pro 'cup' games with Rovers and across his loans at Halifax, Lincoln, and Motherwell, Jack Vale has 7 goals. No, I won't be taking any further questions on this matter.

Not his usual coasting performance

Would also like to congratulate you on being much nicer and more sensible than any of the Wrexham fans that came here before our game with them in the FA Cup. And also for coming back after the game (unlike them) Good luck for the rest of the season Edited August 13, 2024 by KentExile
philipl
Their keeper was man of the match- he pulled off some excellent saves, particularly the one from Gueye.

OldEwoodBlue
Might have been my eyes making 1+1=7 When Sammie comes off, he suddenly goes left, shakes hands with Vale and Trav but purposely blanks Gueye. After the final whistle he came on shaking hands, as Gueye was in front of him, Sammie goes sideways and blanks him. Training bust up ? islander200
Even if Szmodic is pissed off it isn't effecting his performances. If someone pays the fee or Rovers cave in then he will get his move, if he doesn't then he might sulk for a bit but it will serve no purpose to him playing poorly
Danny O.Brien
If a deal was anywhere near he wouldn't have been anywhere near that starting line up tonight. Can't blame him being a big distracted and or upset with all the uncertainty. If it's simply rovers calling Ipswich's bluff then fair play because he's proven tonight and on Friday why he is worth the money we're asking. I still think he gets his move especially if he plays like this between now and the end of the transfer window. If not though wow we are spilt for choice attacking wise. Glad gueye got his goal and he offers something totally different to what we have. Whether his finishing could be better is another argument. Same with ohashi's first touch, he can get away with it if he keeps playing well and scoring. Weimann looking brilliant too. We just need to keep this momentum now until turf moor. To give us any kind of fighting chance.

Its an awkward question for him to answer, he can't say yes and he can't say no, so his only option is an uncomfortable 'not sure'.

As tough as it is and as much as I like him as a player and a character he handed the club a good negotiating position by signing the new deal and taking the pay rise.
davulsukur
An excellent win, although I feel for the Stockport fans after needing to make 10 changes and then getting another injury.
Paul Mani
Professional performance…standouts, Bucko, Trondstadt, Ohashi and Siggy’s best performance in over a year. Big Mak was a real threat when he came on and the keepers save to stop him getting another was top class. First time I’ve seen Duru and jeez, he can motor. He was hampered by Batth being on his side and who never opened his body up to look for Duru. I commented before his goal that Vale actually looked more comfortable on the right wing than he does up top…maybe JE has found a home for him? Maybe not.. I didn’t read anything into SS body language. He always looks huffy on the pitch. Did his job. Fantastic result.

I agree with that, I was asked what was said but I'm talking more about his body language etc in the first 2 games. Get the impression he really wants the move and feels like the club may be denying it to him. Purely speculation but interesting to discuss. Was interested to see that others picked up on it too.
