At the end of the day Szmodic is playing and playing well,goal scored and an assist .Wether it was the clubs decision or Szmodic insistence they gave him 3 weeks off more or less to get the deal sorted and Ipswich haven't met the clubs valuation.

If the club are overvaluing Szmodic in his opinion and feels we should be accepting the offer from Ipswich and he is really unhappy with the club then instead of playing well and putting himself at risk of injury then would he not be putting a transfer request in?

Given its a long hard season that team did look a bit full strength.

Agreed, Buckley has quality but is inconsistent. No disrespect, but its a tad easier against Stockport.

Jack Vales goal the best of the lot. He has already surpassed Telalovic, Chris Brown & George Hirst IMHO. Now the harder job of him getting to Gallys standard (forget all about Armstrong,Diaz etc).

Haha. He's going nowhere. Ben Hinchliffe. County legend. Former long haul lorry driver (and missed a game when we were part time because he couldn't get any more time off), over 300 games for the club and our most "capped" GK. Triple champion of the NLN, NL and L2. Now 36 and when he sees out his 2-year deal at the club he'll get his testimonial. 

Ageing like a fine wine. Golden glove winner last season but not the tallest or best vs crosses (as you see for the 5th) and the club have signed 2 GKs to start the transition. Minor uproar when he didn't start of our first league game. It's happened before though and he's always displaced his challenger.

One of them where it is very difficult to analyse the game such was the opposition, a team of kids for a depleted lower league opposition. 

But obviously such a dominant thrashing is always good and plenty of positives in a very professional display. Gueye getting off the mark is a big one, other attacking players getting goals and some crucial minutes in players legs.

These early league cup games have become really enjoyable over the last few years. Was good to see more of the two new forwards, both look very useful in different ways. Batth was immense defensively, could’ve used the ball a bit more bravely but that will probably come soon enough. Buckley absolutely superb, doesn’t matter about the level of opposition, his level of intensity and commitment was great - we need from him every time he plays. Similar thoughts in Sigurdsson. Weimann looks a real shrewd bit of business. Nice to see Duru make his debut, it’s easy to see what he offers. Still not sure Vale has any future at Rovers, but that goal was fantastic and I’d love to be proven wrong.
