Tracking our (outbound) loan players 24/25

Recommended Posts

Couldn't see another thread specific on this. I can see comments scattered around a few different pages so thought I'd centralise here.

Markandy was outstanding for Chesterfield according to their local rag in their 5 nil win. 2 assists, ran Crewe ragged and was subbed after only 55mins. This is the kind of loan he should have had instead of that Aberdeen farce. He needs lots of games against players who will kick him.

Connor O'Riordab played 90 mins for Cambridge in their 1 nil defeat in league 1.be interesting to see his progress there, considering that was the level of football he came from.

Who else do we have on loan?

. Dilan Markanday 9

Only signed on Thursday but he went straight into the line-up and he gave a very tasty performance in his first 55 minutes before being withdrawn to save his legs. Grabbed two assists from corners and was unlucky not to score himself. He ran circles around Crewe and it looked like he had been playing in this team for years. The ball was stuck to his foot at times as he dribbled his way out of tight spaces. Very exciting debut. More, please.

Garrett gone from one BRFC bench to another.

He played in the League Cup defeat to Cardiff and apparently did very well as a DM (incidentally, as did, apparently, Clinton Mola, at left back). However, it does look as if he's got a job to get into the line-up in midfield. It seems their first choice pairing is Kamil Conteh, a 21 year-old player with caps for Sierra Leone and the experienced, Grant Ward.

Tonight's Loanee games

Starts for

Garrett (Britsol Rovers)

Gamble (Fylde)

Atcheson & Montgomery (Marine)

Honor (Clitheroe)

Michalski (Bamber Bridge)

Mullarkey-Matthews (Bamber Bridge) & Boggan (Macclesfield) not selected in squads.  Markanday rested for Chesterfield with them concentrating on the league apparently.

Atcheson taken off with a head injury with the game at 0-0.  fingers crossed its just a precaution.  This seemed to coincide with Marine forgetting how to defend, and they are now 3-0 down (still not half time)

Markanday's loan is a head scratcher for me. Even if he scores 15 goals in League 2 his status in the Rovers' squad wouldn't change (unless we're relgated that is), and his market value would still be miniscule.

If his confidence improves from a good loan season, he could come back and break into the team. It does seem unlikely at the moment, especially as, last season, as far as I know, he finished with no goals or assists (could be wrong but vaguely remember seeing that) - albeit, didn't play much and did ok once Eustace gave him a chance.

It'll be interesting to see where he plays for Chesterfield and if he can establish himself as a central player, where his decent shooting ability comes into play. Interesting that, already, he's been recognised as a set-piece taker by their management, when we saw none of that here.

Let's face, it if Ohashi scores 15-20 goals this season and we stay in the league, he'll very likely be on the move, so Markanday and others will have chances in the future, if they do ok and stay at the club.

You are wrong, yeh. He scored on the opening day of last season. He also scored 2 in the cup.

That is next level optimism. God I wish I was more like you 😂

Take it back. 1 goal, 0 assists in 21 league appearances last season for Markanday last season, mostly sub appearances. 2 goals in 6 appearances in cup competitions.
