He cant be recalled outside a transfer window, so before January. But he isnt ready to play Championship football, we saw that last season. Even when our main 2 are out, we have better alternatives than Garrett.

It also seems over the top to say its taking the piss without watching them to decide that he should be playing. We obviously want him to play every game but just like when we sign loanees, there should never be any additional motivation to play him just because it suits the parent club.

I know he can't be recalled outside of a window. That's why I said 'if it were possible'. I don't agree with you about his ability level. And I went off apparent reports from BR fans, as you do every time we go for a player you haven't seen. I didn't say anything about playing him to suit us.

I acknowledge that maybe their fans feel he should be playing more. But I dont think that they are taking the piss by not playing him more. Hopefully he will break into their side soon.

IMO he isnt anywhere near of a sufficient quality at the moment to be playing Championship football. It was the correct choice to loan him out but unfortunately he doesnt seem to have done enough to earn regular League 1 football at the moment.

If Travis/Tronstad missed out, would you play Garrett over Baker, Buckley and JRC?

Starts yesterday for

Markanday assisted the first as Chesterfield drew 2-2 with Notts County

Batty won 2-1 v Gillingham
On a side note, Dack is injured for another month, has only played twice so far this season

Olson drew 1-1

Gamble lost 4-1
Kevin Phillips is now the manager of Fylde

Eastham lost 3-2

Jake Batty's loan to Accrington came just in time, it seems, as he seemed to be struggling to impress in the U21s. Perhaps, he was going stale after bursting on the scene, having injuries and losing form.

Markanday starts for Chesterfield v Newport, on Sky Sports + at 8pm

Chesterfield won 3-0 with Markanday getting the opener in the first minute

Goddard on the bench for Dundalk as they lost 2-0, confirming they finish bottom and are relegated with 2 games of the season left to play.   Jacob Davenport came off the bench in that game for Derry

I know I've criticised some of these loans, but I forgot to say I think the Charlie Olson one is a good one. 19 years old (well, about to be 20 this week) and despite the occasional positive mention he's certainly not one of our highest rated prospects, so I think the National League is a good level for him to be sent to. Seems to be doing very well too, MOTM in his debut and a goal in the next game (only a defender too). Extending the one month loan would probably make sense, if that can be done.

Wonder if Altrincham might be interested in borrowing some of our other youngsters, having seen our U21s in action against them and holding their own. Better level than the National League North loans most seem to have been getting.

Markanday has 4 goals and 2 assists in 10 games in League Two. If he continues that sort of form until January surely we'd have to consider recalling him if we can get a League One suitor.

garret and o`riordan need to get back here in january, there is no point them being on loan and not playing,im`e very surprised both of them can`t get a game tbh

I’m not surprised at all, especially with Garrett who I think is miles off this level. Same applies for Markanday.

Young keepers going to Atherron Colleries and City of Liverpool FC which appears to be 4 levels below league 2, is this the best we can do?

Is the idea they just play football anywhere? It can’t be much higher level than sending them down Pleasington?

Still gets them out playing football with men though, even a short spell at that level is more beneficial than academy football all the time.
