I was talking to a Bolton fan who said Oxford played well in the play off final last season, let's not take them lightly. If we can win this one it's a perfect home record to the start of the season. We need to get it right in midfield, keep possesion and dont give the ball away to cheaply.

Every game is difficult in the Championship, and you should underestimate no-one.

However, 12 goals in 3 games, bench looking OK atm we should win.

I watched bits of Oxford games against Norwich and Coventry. Norwich were woeful and Coventry wasteful.

Oxford move the ball quickly and skilfully in midfield but oten mix in route 1 long balls as well. They don't make many chances but are lethal when they do.

Coventry showed a high press and rapid incisive attacks can open Oxford at will. Defence is bodies on the line over organisation.

Irrespective of signings or not, we have enough to win this one but we won't if we don't move the ball sharply.

If Oxford come to be organised and defend deep (not sure if they play this way - just guessing from what others have said) having Geuye could be a real asset. Actually having someone to get on a cross is so important in those games. Also Ohashi is less physically imposing but also heads the ball really well.

If we are going to have a lot of the ball I wonder if bringing Buckley in makes sense?

                    New gk (please!)

Brittain    Carter       Hyam    Pickering

JRC        Buckley     Tronstad  Hedges

                Geuye      Ohashi

Ohashi may not be the biggest but he just seems to shove himself right into the mixer where a lot of players would bottle it.

I have seen both of their league games so far and we should underestimate them at our peril. They are organised and with the likes of Cameron Branagan in midfield they can play, particularly on the counter. The two big centre halves aren't particularly quick but are a real threat at set pieces. I think they will look to capitalise on our weakness in this area. If we do the basics right and match their endeavour we should have too much for them.

I wouldn’t be playing JRC at the moment. Is Weimann ready for a start ? Also I don’t think starting both of Gueye and Ohashi is possible at the moment. Neither of them has much more than an hour in their legs. I’d start with Gueye and hold Ohashi back. I think Dolan has played himself out of a starting role on Saturday, maybe time to give Siggy a whirl there. He looked more focussed in that cameo he had.

A difficult game.

Want to see what incomings, and outgoings, there are this week before making a call on this match.

Oxford are sure to be a threat at set pieces and with Pears and our defence, that frightens me to death.
