They always remind me of Robert Maxwell, or was it his son that owned them? Went there in our promotion season under Dalglish. Think Mike Newell scored and we won. Remember walking thru an estate near the Manor Ground after the game and getting abused off the locals! Seemed a rough old town away from the dreaming spires. They look a good team, unlucky at the weekend to lose at Coventry. Beat Norwich comfortably first game of the season. This might be trickier than people think. Rovers 1 Oxford 1 lost 2 gfs and 4 jobs that year following home & away 3 Quote

benhben Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Need to keep the good start going. The small squad which doesnt like getting much improvement now will start struggling after a few injuries over winter and xmas. The more points now the better. These are the games we must win. Would love to see Gueye get off the mark in the league. Think he could go on a roll if he gets a couple, likewise may end up struggling if he doesnt get one for a few games. 2-0 Gueye and Dolan. 1 Quote

TheRevAshton Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Don't like to be negative, but really feel like this one will be a massive banana skin. 0-3 Oxford. Quote

WacoRover Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 I cannot imagine any scenario where Rovers lose this one: healthy, in form, at Ewood, etc. So it probably happens. I agree there’s an enormous possibility of slipping on a banana, but Rovers pull it out of the fire late, 3-2, thanks to Yuki. COYB! Quote
booth Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 We'll score goals but thanks to our defence and keeper we'll always concede them. So who the hell knows what will happen, we could lose 5-4 or win 3-2. Quote
Oldgregg86 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 Don’t want to call this one but I will predict goals and the paying fans getting there moneys worth Quote
damo100 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 Just hope the majority of the 14.2k who watched a Friday night match live on Sky return for the first home Saturday fixture of season. Quote
SuperBrfc Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 £27 for a walk on in the Riverside...to watch us against Oxford United. Ridiculous. £2 cheaper if you buy the ticket online, but that's not the point. Think we'll do well to have as many there as we did for the opening game. As for the game itself, it will be tougher than it appears on paper but I think we'll have enough to earn a win. Another Yuki goal and a 2-1 win, is what I'm going with. 1 Quote
DeeCee Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 Hopefully JE will tell the team to go all out from the whistle and smash them 🤞Then sit back at half time 3-0 up and give the subs a run. Sorry I've been drinking 🤦♂️ Quote
chaddyrovers Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 (edited) Pears Brittain Hyam Batth Pickering Travis Tronstad JRC Dolan Hedges Gueye Subs:- Hilton, McFadzean, Duru, Buckley, Weimann, Sigurdsson, Ohashi, Vale, Batty My score prediction is 2 nil Rovers with Gueye scoring both goals Edited August 22, 2024 by chaddyrovers 1 Quote

Maybe Tyjon for Vale on the bench, if that loan move gets finalised. I reckon 2-0 is fair, but I’m going 3-1. Edited August 23, 2024 by Paul Mani Quote
