Should potentially be himself and Ohashi behind Gueye? 2 good creative players playing off the big man. He's very poor defensively and he's slow, which is why we should play him as a #10 behind Gueye. 3 Quote

Andy Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Poor performance, but good result. I've always rated Siggy, think there's a proper player in there - so pleased to see him get the winner today. 7 points from the first 3 games and sitting 3rd in the league. We'd have all snapped your hand off at that. 9 Quote
booth Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 One of those happy days in football, enjoy it while it lasts folks! Gueye really does fire up our forward line when he's on doesn't he. Takes the pressure off. 2 Quote

Eustace has instilled a resilience in to the team which means we chisel out the points. Strangely the complete opposite of JDT - despite JDT being a hard task master (and improving several players as footballers) and Eustace appearing to be a bit more 'pally' with the players. We never came from behind under JDT and our subs often did nothing. Edited August 24, 2024 by Exiled_Rover 7 Quote

The ball sticks to him, he wins headers and lets the CBs know they're in a game. Another assist for him today too. 1 Quote
BigBar Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Super Siggy with a bitta magic to win it. Buzzing. Quote
BankEnd Rover Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Happy with 3 points but what an awful match. Re-enforcement’s needed and we need some pace badly. Alos that’s why we need to keep Siggy! Class finish. 1 Quote

Swapping those two is turning into one of the best decisions in a long time. 6 Quote
TommyRovers Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Think we can go into the Burnley game with some confidence. By far the underdogs but the resilience and spirit in this squad is huge. Burnley are shitting themselves after todays performance and the mass fire sale going in. Should be a cracker. 3 Quote
Popular Post Bethnal Posted August 24, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 24, 2024 Gueye with 3 assists in three league appearances is good stuff. The manner in which Oxford lost is the manner in which we lost a lot of games over the past couple of seasons and coming back from 1-0 to win is as rare as rocking horse shit. Big game next weekend, could absolutely derail the dingles, if we nick it. They seem livid at their owners as it is, I’m not sure Burnley Town Centre could cope with the hammering it would take after losing. Turning a disaster zone into a wasteland. Let’s get it done. 13 Quote

In that he said JDT was tactically the best manager he's had but JE was more man management. JE said if they beat Sheff Wed, he wouldn't see them again till wednsday (giving them days off as a reward), whereas JDT would have them back in after a defeat, repeating all the stuff in training. The really strange thing with Gueye is despite how often he seems to scuff a shot/struggle with his technique/look clumsy with the ball, he really can pick a pass, his decision making is quite impressive Edited August 24, 2024 by KentExile 3 Quote
Dreams of 1995 Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 I’ll take that. Not a great performance at all but we’ve managed to pull it out the bag Proactive substitutions and some good options on the bench made the difference today That said, they are a poor side and our performances need to improve massively. Eustace has form for struggling against sides that sit back and soak up the pressure. He wants teams to press and commit themselves. So it’s good to see the team find a way to grab 3 pts against a side that didn’t really show any interest in winning until the last 5 minutes We are going up Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Tricky fixture...hard fought win. This side has some Steel.😀 ONCE AGAIN BACK THIS MANAGER WITH HARD CASH! 3 Quote

Yeah I think I agree, I’d have himself and Ohashi both floating behind Gueye. We have no pace so not much point playing wide with Hedges / Dolan. Get the fullbacks forward to offer the width and delivery to Gueye. Quote
