RevidgeBlue Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Very kind set of fixtures to start but I think we'd all have been happy with seven points at this stage. That said there seem to have been large spells in each game where we've been very much second best so Eustace, who seems to be doing an admirable job thus far on an extremely frayed shoestring , needs a lot of help in the final week of the window. As for looking better after finally seeing the back of Gallagher; Who'd have thought it? Lol. 4 Quote
roverandout Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Good start but we need to strike while the irons hot. More reinforcements. This will test whether venkys want promotion or not 4 Quote

In that he said JDT was tactically the best manager he's had but JE was more man management. JE said if they beat Sheff Wed, he wouldn't see them again till wednsday (giving them days off as a reward), whereas JDT would have them back in after a defeat, repeating all the stuff in training. Probably not the greatest example, to be fair, considering how that game went. 1 Quote

But a load don't put him in as too expensive. So we'll have gained on a section Got Raya, Gabriel and Saliba. So a clean sheet in this evening game and I'm gonna be flying. Quote
Torgeir Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Good hard-working effort. Oxford looked dangerous and scored a wonder goal (not a Pears mistake btw). Travis gave the ball away on a few occasions, and a few of our starters didn't look too great. Love the energy of Ohashi and Gueyeis impactful, whether he starts or comes on from the bench. Great to have more strings to play on. Dolan looked his normal self, bits are good but can't weight a pass properly to play as a #10. A little more pace on the break needed, bring someone exciting in. 4 Quote

moerpho Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 The one thing that is a BIG difference this season (so far) is subs that change the game. I was critical of Eustace but have to put my hands in the air and admit I was wrong. The way he has won us games with his subs has been refreshing and kept us undefeated this far. It isn’t pretty but it’s points on the board. Even though Oxford had the better chances I felt it was a deserved win today, and a fair bit of that is down to Eustace. Refreshing. Good performances from Carter, Trondstad and the ever awesome Yuki. Ohashi deserves better players around him. And if todays game is anything to go by we won’t miss Travis. There. I said it. To much drama and not enough product. Still….onwards and upwards! All bow to the mighty Rovers! 1 Quote
Paul Mani Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 A little flat in terms of performance, I don’t think we got out of 3rd gear… Yuki and Gueye are fantastic signings from absolutely nowhere and Weimann is an astute bit of business. The big winner for me so far is the manager. There were lots of questions about what he was all about, and rightly so. But his performance has been brilliant so far, he’s getting loads out of this group and his substitutions have been magnificent. Please, please back him with a bit of money in the next week 🙏🏽 8 Quote

Nit one if Trav's better.games,.Tronstad too a few times losing possession. Two moments of proper quality from Siggy the goal and a oass out if the back. We need more of that from him. Wins a win. 1 Quote

To be fair pal, I've been watching football for 60 years so I'm well qualified to comment. He's my least favourite player at Ewood because he's a limited player with a heart the size of pea but as previously stated he scored the winner today so I'm thankful to him for that. Quote
Torgeir Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 JRC looked the best he's looked so far. A positive game from him and hope he regains the excellent form he had before a few bad injuries. Great player on when on form. Quote

Bbrovers2288 Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Take the results for sure, nice feeling to a Saturday , think when fixtures came out that would be all our best case scenarios with the draw at Norwich. Big week now with transfers as better teams will punish us if we don’t strengthen the core 1 Quote

sverrehh Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Forward passes were mostly non functional the first 60 minutes. Dolan is not a good passer of the ball. I hope we can snatch some players up ! Not the finest of games, but happy with 3points! 1 Quote
