The main issue I can see at the moment is JRC wide right isnt working.... need to switch it up. Problem is all our other right options (Weiman, Sigurdsson, Dolan) will all come inside too. No one who really stretches the pitch

If we are sticking with 4231 I think Id start Sigurdsson wide right to see how he gets on and use JRC as a sub for the central midfielders or number 10 later in the game.

Firstly, JRC isn't fully fit and carrying an injury. Its been 2 games, I think its way too early to say it isn't working. Brittain from the right back stretches the pitch.

I dont doubt that the intention is to get Rankin Costello to drift inside with Brittain overlapping and I dont think its a case where people dont understand the logic

I just dont think that Rankin Costello has been particularly effective there. He has probably been our weakest outfield performer in the 2 games so far.

Its been 2 games, you are looking for Perfection here again. You haven't took this is work in progress and understanding that JRC is carrying an injury since the season started

Given his injury history - why the hell is JRC playing with an injury at the start of a long season ?

I dont see how its looking for perfection by suggesting that I am unconvinced that he is playing in his best position on the right hand side of midfield either.

It feels like a case of although he is perhaps our best player, because of his versatility and the fact that we have a right back and 2 central midfielders who he also wants to get in, that JRC's versatility works against him in that he is placed where we in general are weak.

All these negative comments, were not Brazil at the moment were trying to improve on last seasons disasterous slide down the  table. We need to improve on last weeks game at Norwich, we were poor in midfield giving the ball away far to cheaply and failing to close down players which led to Norwich scoring their second goal. After saying that i have confidence in our strikeforce Gestede, Ohashi and Weiman. Lets hope we get our act together tomorrow and keep our 100% home record. Early days but there's signs  we are improving.

Is Rudi pulling his old boots on then ?

As bizarre as everything else at this club, obviously don’t want to man the away ticket office for a couple of hours… but of course there are absolutely no issues with funding, one of those reassuring blue background statements said so.

Really? Expected double that for a newly promoted team

I expected more too. We'll never know but I wonder how many would have bought tickets on the day. Whoever makes these decisions down there should be accountable.

I saw Hayden Carter watching the under 21's at the Academy yesterday. Normally players are straight home after training and resting the day before a game. I am assuming from that he won't be fit.

Carter is vital and it's worrying when he picks up injuries as we're left with 2 experienced yet sluggish centre halves. Could probably cope today without him but next week would be a nightmare.

He seems to pick up more than his share of injuries. I don’t know what it is with modern centre halves. The first Rovers centre half I saw play, Matt Woods, appearances 26/26, 48/48, 43/44, 50/51, 47/47, 41/55,, 47/49. Of course Matt was made from wrought iron.

Here is the last time we played Oxford at home, a great day, Ewood almost full to bursting, such a wonderful sight to see, Doncaster away to win promotion wasn't bad either!

1300 is a decent following from Oxford they've never had a big fanbase half that city is probably populated by outsiders and Manure/Liverpool 'fans'.

It's that type of place and not massive either but Swag will be disappointed he can't roll out the carpet for 3k Southeners !

That was a crazy day. About 28k home fans, most of them bladdered. Rovers fans getting battered by other Rovers fans trying to get back on the BBE after the pitch invasions during the match.

Agreed. No history of big followings from Oxford, like you say they just don’t have the fanbase. 1300 is good for them.
