The referee performance was terrible but doesnt excuse his stupidity.

He shouldn't rise to it but referees shouldn't be deliberately causing shit either.

Parker’s done well in the Championship, but with extremely well-put-together squads and money. Looks like the American Experiment they’ve been under has hit a wobble and the thing about Americans is they hate losing to the point of error.

If there’s even a remote hint of conflict over there, it could boil over into a real mess and I don’t think their fans are quite hip to that. It’s not going to be the mega-money Kompany team and I think there are a lot of players in that team that wanted out on Friday.

Delusional is the correct term. I think they believe they’ll walk this league and I also think it’s not going to work out like that. Ideally, they have a December meltdown and get humbled at Ewood. Cantwell gelled into that team with rotation and refinement of process, I think they could get their arses handed to them.

Did you notice Benson stropping off “injured” in the dying stages? I’d be livid if one of ours had done that. Stories of unhappy and striking players usually have some basis in truth. I’m glad they kept hold of Trafford though, really bad keeper.

I think anyone who took the piss out of Eustace for all his togetherness talk last year will regret doing so pretty soon. It’s helped us look the side most deserving of three points today.

My thoughts...

Really proud of the lads to come away with a point with absolutely everything against them.

That ref was the biggest c*nt I've experienced in a long time. He was absolutely desperate to give them a penalty and was twitching to blow his whistle for them on every occasion. No flow to the game at all, just stop start wanting to hear the sound of his own voice and make decisions instead of just letting tackles be tackles. Absolute dickhead.

Really disappointed with Britain, he has to improve defensively and stop allowing crosses into the box. I'm a fan of his but he was poor both defensively and in possession. Could say the same for Carter too, sloppy in possession, got himself booked with an awful first touch.

Beck had a rough start but grew into it. I thought he did a solid job in the 2nd half, did require Hedges to double up but it was a fair performance given he was thrown in at the deep end.

Centre midfield didn't get hold of the game in the first half and I thought we stood off way too deep and gave them too much respect. Once we pressed higher they panicked and looked vulnerable. Feel it was a missed opportunity to not step on the gas and put them under some sustained pressure. As limited and sometimes frustrating he is, you can tell Travis has been a big miss for us, he was at it all game today, arguing, in people's ear, winding players up, just generally being an absolute w*nker and in games like this you really need that.

Dolan worked unbelievably hard, he's frustrating but you can't fault his effort, Hedges exactly the same.

Andy Weimann... What a signing & what a finish! Best Derby goal I've seen, shown buckets of experience for us so far, giving us goals from midfield, just a proper classy operator and looks to be a real pickup on a free.

There's been a lot of discussion about the JDT performance and I have to agree with many saying we wouldn't have dug in like we did today under him. We'd have folded and comfortably lost that game no doubt.

I'm starting to really like John Eustace, he's proactive on the touch line, gets his subs right at the right time with the right players. With many other of our managers I hardly agreed with when they where and when they were... Often too late. Today he showed plenty of passion, went toe to toe with Parker and put him in his place. We went down to 10, still put a striker on, didn't wave the white flag, kept us organised and threatening on the counter. I really respect his methods, he's happy to mix up the play, play out when there's space and hit the big man when there isn't. After finishing 19th last season, to start with 8 points from a possible 12 going into the international break is superb. It gives him a real chance of bedding in the new lads and pushing everyone to raise expectations.

For all their huff and puff we had the better chances and deserved the point. We can have that lot later this season if we can keep it together and keep improving.

Last thing, we make fun of their 6 fingers, did any notice the 4 fingers on show at one point? It gave me a bit of childish chuckle.

50 million spent was it? Every bit championship team...

John Eustace blue and white army!

The difference is we are not bedding in new players ,we are bedding in good players.

An enjoyable trip (In the end).

Worst refereeing performance I've seen for some time. He could've caused riots. Refs let allsorts go in big games, not this plum.

One sided b@astard" was being kind. George Courtney and Gerald Ashby esque.

To get a 2nd yellow for a gesture seems rare, to me, (Rotherham last season; aside).

Games are reffed on a whim, and with hardly any consistency in officiating, through the whole Pyramid. He'd never have sent a home player off for that, at any level.

Weiman's goal will live long in my memory. Every player gave his all and all deserve credit.

Our support was incredible.

Quietest I've ever heard the Burnley fans. Used to be hostile and nasty- Even in Manx cup games. Not today.

What we lack In flair and quality, we more than make up for in desire and dedication.

If we can add more cutting edge, who knows where we can take it.

"Fking hate Burnley, Fking hate Burnley" Gets me every time.

Give it a couple of weeks and you’ll see a player in the Prem do what Guyere did today and nothing will happen. The ref has ticked that box now. It’s like when we signed Oojer. They brought out a rule to stamp out the holding on at corners in the box. Oojer does it and gets a red card. Two weeks later it’s all forgotten, and just look at the holding in the box these days.

Whether the rules are different or not, im not sure. He should know the rules and he has no excuse. And he did it for a while. Idiotic behaviour who let everyone down. Cannot do it again.

I agree he can't do it but the ref should have handed the yellow card to the defender when he didn't do.

He could have apply some common sense and had a word with him. I know its not allow but its something that mentioned post match on Sky Sports

He was stupid for doing it, but if the ref had booked their guy at the time of the offense he wouldn't have done it. Ref was deliberately riling our players all match.

The ref could have applied some common sense(which is sadly lacking in football and refereeing decisions. The tackle was yellow card and this ref was PL ref which says alot for me.

Had a look on their forums to see their perspective - they aren’t half delusional over there.

The penny hasn't properly dropped yet. They'll struggle with those forwards against better defences. And that Hannibal fellow is just a bumbling bully in the centre of the park... £5.4m rising to £9m!? Had the second goal been allowed I don't think they'd have had a response and we'd have perhaps scored more.

And that's against Rovers, a team with a very dodgy keeper, a dodgy defence, players still getting used to each other and a young fullback who got thrown in after only being at the club for a couple of days.

I can't see them in the automatic spots come the end of the season.

Probably Less than a couple of weeks, I'd say 24 hours. And that's only thinking of Bruno Fernandes. :)

This board is in meltdown over most things, it doesn't mean anything. Personally I couldn't give two hoots if an opposition player had gestured the same way Gueye did. For me it's just part of the game in the same way that players dive all the time, roll over at the slightest of touches, managers berate 4th officials, etc. Not saying I like all those things but I'm not gonna cry about an opposition player gesturing for one of Rovers players to be booked. Dont be soft.

?

Who's crying? (Other than you about the ref). Player breaks a rule, gets sent off.

I remember under Kompany they were loud. Today, even when a goal up, you hardly heard a peep.

Very gutsy performance and you'll have to go quite far back to find a better goal being scored by us in any match - nevermind the derby.

Referee was pretty awful and not helped by his linesman when we should have put ourselves 2-1 up. Silly by Gueye and hopefully he will learn that you can't do that here, but I will be watching Harrington very closely this season to see if he is consistent in his application of that particular law. I don't disagree with it, but a lot of players will get away with it in less important situations.

I read his lips saying "obstruction". Anyhoo. No goal.. Bastard!

Sorry mate but you’re just plain wrong.

The officials have confirmed that the goal was disallowed for offside, I’m not sure why you are/were so adamant that it wasn’t the case. They don’t flag straight away for it these days, which is pretty irritating tbh.

Did you notice Fadz just tapping the ball right in front of a burnley player who was about to take the ball for a quick throw-in ❤️

Saw that, was great but I expected a yellow to come.

Problem was he did it instantly, so even if the ref was going to book him, he didnt give him chance. And the gesturing went on for a few seconds so it went beyond a talking to. No excuses.

The disallowed goal is something we can feel aggrieved about, if only we had VAR as it was tight.
