I'm going against the grain here but turn out the kids and squad players

All of our kids and squad players have gone out on loan!

Unless we start playing people like Saadi and Whitehall which just isn't going to happen.

We'll have to play at least 2 or 3 I think that would be in the starting lineup on Saturday.

Maybe Swag and Shadow have got boots that still fit the old unfit never kicked a ball in anger types.

We will win anyway.

I'm actually posting to join those who are changing their opinion on JE.

Now almost recovered from my post JDT depression I can view JE in logical terms and he no longer seems to be the "yes" man I thought him to be.

The start to the season helps but not the deciding factor, I actually now think he now knows what it's all about at this ramshackle club of ours and is just trying to do his best in difficult circumstances. For that he deserves support.

Historical meetings & last match…

At Easter 1964 aged almost 12 I had travelled alone over 150 miles to stay at Grans in Blackburn.

I then went alone by bus, Ribble (?), to Blackpool and back to see us lose.

Recalling little of the game itself but do remember stood behind the goals in plenty of empty space and then struggling to find the bus station to get back to Grans.

The only other time I visited Bloomfield Rd was a couple of years later for a Reserves game. I probably went to that as I'd done the route before and was into watching any game I could get to by bus when on hols.

My travels were not without incident and in hindsight bloody stupid when young and alone.

Would go:

Hilton

Duru, Batth, McFadzean, Batty

Weimann, JRC, Buckley, Siggy

Gueye, Ohashi

Hilton isn't up to it but we can’t risk going to Burnley with Hilton in goal should Pears play against Blackpool and get either injured or sent off (hopefully we have a new goalie before Saturday but no guarantees with our shower of a sh1te management).

Confident Duru would be fine there whilst it's time for Batty to either shit or get off the pot.

Expect us to win 4-2 with that midfield / forward 2.  Scoring goals is a wonderful habit and the more you score the more confident you get and the two lads up front need that feeling.

I can't recall seeing Batty play for the first team in the league but he's still just aged 19 and with just a small few sub appearances in cup games.

He seems to be expected to deliver now and cover for recruitments failure to provide backup for Pickering.

Battys biggest asset was his pace, I haven't seen him play for over a year, he may have lost that pace. But something has happened for him to regress so much.

If you want to catch up on him, Rovers posted a 90 min replay on their last U21 game on the club website (Mafoumbi also played the first 45).  Personally, Battys passing/decision making is way off it, fast in body but not in mind

Thanks for your informed opinion. Respected and appreciated.

Would indicate that competent LB back up is really needed and quickly.

Yes, a good left-back would be welcome, ideally one that is comfortable to play the left sided center-half position, when called upon to, in Eustaces system.

Just been on the website trying to buy a ticket for Blackpool game. I was not successful so I won't be going. I will admit I am not very tech savvy but I'm not completely stupid but anyway I couldn't do it. Am I right in thinking that you can't buy one at the ticket office before kick off on the day? Or if you can you pay extra.

I work silly shifts so it's very hard to get to games but tomorrow would of been good but I refuse to bend over backwards to give Rovers or anyone else my money, surely they should be making it as easy as possible. I really can't understand the logic behind making it as difficult as possible to buy a ticket. Maybe they aren't as hard up as they are telling us. Excuse the rant but after 50 years of supporting Rovers I think my match days are coming to an end all because the club is not making it easy for us older supporters who just want to turn up get a ticket and watch the match or heaven forbid pay cash at the turnstiles.

You can buy on the night and it doesn’t say there’s a price rise for this one, presumably that’s just league games (no idea why the difference, as we know they just make it up as they go along).

I tried to read the whole thing Chaddy but I can't because I don't do twitter or X or whatever. Another example of some of us being relegated to an underclass.

Or play John Buckley and a few others, the same player that scored goal of the season and goal of the month against Birmingham and Preston in the not to distant past.

I agree with John Eustace, cup ties are not our top priority this season. We did well in both cups last season and look what happened, players were burnt out in the last couple of months of the season, and we almost paid the price with relegation. I am not saying let other teams win, but realisticly can you see us getting past the likes of Man City; Man United; Liverpool etc. We have a flimsy squad and we don't want to many injuries.

Last season was depressing, you did'nt know were the goals were coming from if Sammie Szchmodics had an off day. I am beginning to look forward to games from what i've seen at Ewood so far this season. We actually fight back if we go behind and have a strikeforce that can find the net. Early days but a lot more promising.

Think this'll be a good end to end cup tie i hope plenty get down there and create a bit of atmosphere. Blackpool fans are always the best vocally of all the local clubs who visit so we don't want it feeling like a home game for them.

Rovers as per have done their best to cock the crowd up yet again with the ultra unreliable digital ticketing platform on the blink to phones.

Proves my point for the umpteenth time that the race to digitalize everything in life is a load of baloney.

Rovers 3   Lashers  2

We did well in both cups the previous season, look what happened.

We did well in the cup 2002, look what happened, stayed in the PL.

Personally treat the cups as momentum gainers (and money).
