If this standard of performance is repeated in the Championship it's going to be the Season from Hell. Nothing much in this squad to suggest that it won't be. 1 Quote

Slagging people off who actually support the team 🤮 For 30+ years pre-venkys the word Burnley was rarely mentioned at Ewood Park or in away sections. "No Nay Never" and the odd "Cheer Up Stanley Turnent" now and again. 90% of chants were pro-Rovers, now it's the complete opposite. The obsession with Burnley isn't exactly what I would class as supporting Blackburn Rovers anyway... it cries of inferiority. "We hate Burnley", "Stand Up if you hate Burnley", "Bring on the Dingles", "Blackburn Rovers FC, fucking hate Burnley"... the list literally goes on, and every chant gets sung ad nausea. 80% of the BBE chants focus on them 6 fingered inbreds, and it's just pathetic for some of us older fans who actually remember the days prior. Sing what you want, obsess over Burnley... but since we haven't beat them since (I believe) 2010, it's a bit sad and embarrassing for such a proud fanbase, town and club. Criticise the team for sleepwalking through the game tonight when the fanbase has literally been singing about fixture 6 since minute 15 of the season. 🤷 Edited August 27, 2024 by Angry_Pirate 10 Quote

Seriously, I will organise the best protest ever, are people on board? No joke either, I will organise it People have tried, some have succeeded in organising and maintaining, but the last protest-related group chat was a wet fart of shit ideas and arguing. Quote
Ossydave Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 Can only hope a few of those players had half an eye on Saturday, because they certainly didn't seem with it tonight. Disappointed to lose but some over reactions on here, as always. 4 Quote
joey_big_nose Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 JRC had an incredibly bad game.... Hes looked so off it. Something not right with him at all. Thought Buckley did pretty well, and Gueye. Carter and Pickering had solid games. But the rest it was pretty bad. Duru good at beating his man but his delivery was not great and defensively he looks very suspect under the high ball. Fadz has a real Sunday league way of playing about him. 4 Quote

He looked gutted in the introductory interviews - he was pushed out of the door at Coventry to pay the bills. 1 Quote
tomphil Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 To coin a fav Souness phrase that was a Keystone cops second half. Relatively comfortable to coming out in an effing cup tie at home seemingly wanting to sit on the one nil, multiple subs yet again throw it into chaos and hit by a double whammy. One that Blackpool deserved as they did the victory, who was the Championship club ? We are screaming out for a pacey winger, wing backs are rarely the answer. Quote

The change was uncharacteristic and I suspect he wanted to trial three at the back but it destabilised us. Individually, we gave them two goals. Most players were below average. L Duru, Bucko, Carter, Siggy Weimann and Gueye did ok. JRC was poor on Saturday and worse today. Lesson - JRC isn’t a CM. We don’t look comfy with 3 at the back. I think JRC last season is a centre mid but there is some sort of physical issue with him... Hes definitely a yard slower and isnt moving well. 2 Quote

Most of the remainder would be unlikely to make it into any other teams in this league. Venkys are building a squad for League 1. Quote

Atko's Engine Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 Disappointing performance & result of course, but yet again there's some major overreaction by many on here imo. Sell JRC? Sell Buckley? Sell Hyam?? Madness, we're already threadbare as it is!! And blaming Pears for tonight (and indeed for Oxford's goal) is just mental. Clearly the players were below par tonight; that happens sometimes, especially with a much bigger game on the horizon. Clearly also Eustace will regret making the changes he did, but remember that up to now this season his changes have been excellent; he's not gonna get it right all the time, especially when the squad is light. Everyone needs to calm down & not get carried away with wins or distraught re defeats. ALL the issues we have lie above the players & above Eustace. 9 Quote
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 If nothing else it will hopefully show our owners that we need more players. Another Cup win would have just continued to paper over the cracks. 1 Quote
