I think our fans were split on him before. Some could see a blatant lack of technical ability, finishing ability and the intelligence and movement to find goalscoring positions. And some felt that his main issue was needing chances creating for him in a way that supposedly suits him. So for the latter, to see him have a ball put on his head that didnt even require any clever movement from him, and for him to miss that chance how he did caused a rethink.

A biased opinion or not, it’s got to be the worst decision, I have ever seen on a football pitch ever and I’ve seen some bad ones. 

I was with a group of mates in a Pattaya bar post golf watching the game.

If I recall correctly the group had fans of MU, Liverpool, Leeds, Forest, Toon, and me, the Lone Rover.

That corrupt refereeing decision was long the topic on conversation, all agreed it was a stonewall penalty.

It's like MGPs miss and Courtney Palace, ones that I still think about as there were historically important.

Gueyes miss, whilst hysterically bad, hasn't reached that level, it could as the season unfolds.

It made me laugh at the time whilst genuinely thinking FFS he is useless and angry as I'd fallen for the lie that he could head the ball well, in attacking crosses.

The match was a sell out, so it was beamed back to Ewood on the big screen. I couldn’t believe the decision when I saw it live, but when I saw it on match of the day later, I also came to the conclusion that it was a corrupt one. There is no way a qualified referee could not know it was a stone wall pen.

That's another one, I have never forgotten.

I watched it on Sky and to make it worse, some of the pundits tried to justify the "foul" being given.

Can you ever imagine that being given, in reverse? Never ever and even less so, when Sir Alex was in charge.  

PS I think it was a Sherwood "foul" by the way, but Shearer scored from his headed pass.

Id still have Chris Brown down as worse at the moment. Without Gueye we wouldnt of scored our 3rd against Cardiff. He didnt win the header but he didnt let the defender win it either, and that led to JRC putting the ball in to baker to do the rest. 

Brown still tops the list for me atm.

The thing with Brown is in his day, he was a competent Championship striker. He turned up here with his knees knackered and he spent most of his time injured. Gueye is coming into his supposed prime.

What are this players strengths?

Hold up play? Flick ons? Back to goal? Dribbling? Shooting? Running with the ball? Set pieces? The channels? Winning free kicks? 

I've been saying since PNE away that he is very, very limited. His first touch is a pass to the opposition, his shooting / striking / timing of the ball amongst the worst I've ever seen upfront for Rovers. He runs like Bambi on ice, lacking coordination.

We have all been banking on him being deadly with his head, but he's now flattened that thought process as well.

I don't nornally criticise individual players, the Championship has it's detractors, but it's still a very high standard of professional football.

I'd be tempted to see if he could make it as a centre half, but he'd have to toughen up even for that to work.
