And he can play a bit too.

A Brereton-esque turn around in performances but hell of a lot quicker..  Whilst his finishing leaves a bit to be desired, he's an absolute power-house, great in the air, strong on the deck and really good feet for a big man.. The more I watch him, the more I think we've got a decent player.. 

 

Get those contracts sorted out- Travis, Trondstadt and Brittain are priorities. The Kargbo contract is ludicrous- he's going to need a new one at the end of next season, and, judging from his 5 minute cameo (yes, I like to jump the gun) he's going to be a right handful... 

Looking forward to seeing Denny boy and Kargbo either side Gueye..  Sit deep and smash teams on the break..  I think we could get fairly close to the play-off's if we can keep everyone fit.  However, Trondstadt has left a Sonny shaped hole in the midfield. I really would have preffered not to have signed Forshaw and took  gamble on a  young lad from league one or two, but 'hey-ho'..

I agree.

 

But when you have a non-scoring striker in a non-scoring team, it becomes a little bit of an issue. If he had more goals in him, he wouldn't be here but hopefully he can hit a green patch of goal-scoring form soon.

I went from 'loving' him to mehhhhh back to loving him again. Great character and works his socks off for the team, just lacks dicipline too but a really funny character 😄

Seriously though for someone people claimed was the worst striker ever to play for us I reckon he’d have no lack of suitors at much much more than we paid for him

Definitely a confidence player, it all flipped again after his goal at Wednesday, I think in that same game he had a superb last ditch tackle in our box as well

Even when he wasn't scoring, he was still affecting games. Unbelievable in the air in both boxes and he's got good feet for a big lad. Really like the look of him. Unplayable tonight in a massive game.

Criticism of Gally is fully understandable but not hard working? Surely not. He ran himself into the ground, he just wasn't a good goal scorer.

I thought he fooled people by jogging about.  He would run a couple of yards then stop. He gave the impression he was putting himself about.  Gheye on the other hand is a madman

He (and they) deserve that after the ridiculous sending off at the Turd.

I dont think anyone said that he was the worst striker to ever play for us. Up there with the worst finishers at a time when everytime he had chance to shoot with his feet, he either spooned it miles away, tripped over the ball or telegraphed a shot essentially straight at the keeper.

Tonight his finishes and also him hitting the bar showed technique with his feet that he has never shown before. Hes always had signs of hold up play (although flashes, it has now become a much more consistent staple of his game) and obviously an aeriel threat which had started to lead to goals even before tonight.

You look at some of the worst strikers at least in my life time and Chris Brown would be up there. He was obviously worse than Gueye but his knees were so shot, he seldom ever had a shot he was that far off the pace.

Some of his best hold up play is with his feet, his confidence has grown, the difference when he takes on shots is huge - i was worried at first he had no power but last few games has put in some decent shots.

Also i thought it was a pen just before the goal!

Now to see if he can be consistant. But certainly a handy player!
