Yes, he's feeding off scraps, but he needs to counter that with making far more effort. He doesn't put himself about anywhere near enough; that's the top and bottom of it for me. I’ve seen nothing to suggest he’s even a good header of the ball. Being tall doesn’t mean you’re good in the air. I know I keep going on about him, but I don’t see anything whatsoever in him. That leads to the question, what exactly did our scouts see in him to believe he would be a success in the Championship? 26 yrs old. Ohashi is 28. There’s not much in either of them that we haven’t already seen. 4 Quote

Ohashi could be an option off the bench but we desperately need some pace out wide and a proper goal scorer. Gueye will fall into the browns and Koitas if the world. Sad thing is if we addressed that we would be a decent championship side 2 Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 I think the big Smile hides a lot of inadequacy..a hell of a lot. Not for me. 1 Quote

Mattyblue Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 A club that can’t even provide a few biscuits to the media won’t exactly be setting a high bar for the scouts. 2 Quote
Forever Blue Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Are these tales of no biscuits for the media and a £10 allowance for the players on coach journeys true or jokes? It’s hard to tell these days with Rovers! Quote
Mattyblue Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Don’t know about the tenners. But the biscuits is true as far as I’m aware, as I believe the Swansea commentator last week was saying how we are the only club they know in the league that provide no food to the media. Quote

It’s hard to tell these days with Rovers! I'm sure the £10 allowance isn't true. It was a flippant remark after I said I saw five Rovers players at Knutsford Services on the way home last night. I did explain that they had been dropped off there by the coach and were waiting for their lifts to arrive. Quote

If true, and no reason to think the Swansea commentator would be making that up, yet another nail in the club that Jack built and another example of the Venkys failing to respect his legacy. Shameful ! Quote

Shameful ! The old Ewood Boardroom was famous through the game for the hospitality being second to none for visiting press and club officials. 2 Quote

Shameful ! After the Swansea game, a girl was holding up a sign asking Cantwell for his shirt. He said I'm not allowed, but he then came over and gave her his training top. Quote
Trinidad Rover Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Not very good. Sad as I was naively optimistic when we signed him. The video he did with Cantwell was concerning.....couldn't hit an open net! Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 I'll go on record and say I think he's a very good Championship ST. 1 Quote

Footballers earning thousands per week shouldn't get any sort of allowance on the coach trip regardless of the club's funds. 2 Quote

Surely you've got to accept that seems a stretch at present. He hasn't scored a single goal, or looked particularly like scoring one, in 11 Championship games. Quote
Oldgregg86 Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 I will go on record to say he is shite Quote

jim mk2 Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 I feel sorry for this player. He is out of his depth at Championship level and does not have the skill or footballing nous to trouble even average defenders. Even his physical presence does not add up to much. He needs replacing in January 1 Quote

I think he’s decent and will come good, some of his flicks ons and hold up play has been really good, his passing terrible and finishing yet to be proven by a long shot but I think there’s glimpses there Quote

About on a par with Telalovic who was utterly useless. Quote
MarkBRFC Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Blokes a write off. Looked ok first few games, ever since his sending off he's looked a player that should be playing a couple of levels lower. Quote
joey_big_nose Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 He was abysmal against Watford and has been poor since August. Still think I saw enough in August to think he will be a good signing if he refinds that form. Id say we are really way too early to come to definitive judgements. Just go and have a look at what people were saying about Szmodics in October 2022... Quote
