Needs Big Mak to be up there with Yuki feeding off him.

That’s a bit cheesy.

I hope Yuki, Chips in with another doubleand we take away all 3 points. Maybe Dolan will get one too and do his usual flip after.

Its, food for thought, that we can be fast out of the blocks and ensure we drink in the atmosphere of a full away end.

We will know the results of the other games, by the time we play and could Ketchup Sunderland and West Brom and finish the weekend as top dogs. If we show the hunger and desire, this early in the season, it’s a good sign and we could just drive through this division after all.

Thank god we somehow managed to flog Gallagher.

Tough call upfront, think we play better as a team with Gueye upfront, but cant really drop Yuki after two goals. Not sure how to fit them both in. Maybe Dolan out wide, Yuki in the centre with Hedges dropping to the bench.

I’m not sure that’d work. I don’t see us playing with two up front and I don’t see Yuki playing in a deeper role. He’s a striker. If we’re only playing with one striker we’ll probably start with Guyere and bring Yuki on later. Unless we are chasing the game it’ll be one or the other.

I could see it just not for 90 mins. On the hour when we're chasing the game for example I think it could work.

Won't be easy.  Derby games can be so unpredictable and there are signs Heckingbottom is getting a bit more structure and organisation into their game.

Beck MUST play ahead of Pickering - as a full back, he's way ahead of Pickering in all facets of the game.

Big question is what Eustace does up front.  Gueye would be terrific in a game like this.  Can he accommodate both Gueye and Ohashi?  Would be harsh in the extreme to leave out Ohashi who was signed to score goals and has delivered in style.

Confident we will have too much for PNE and we will run out winners by a couple of goals.

Just watched PNE v Sheffield United highlights of the season opener.

I would start Gueye even if he comes off after an hour because the PNE boys are big and chunky with a long throw specialist as well as corners to defend. We need Gueye at both ends of the park.

If he's ready, this is the ideal game for ACD given the way PNE had no idea how to handle Brooks in the Blades game.

Just like Bristol City, we owe this lot rectification for some recent defeats. PNE look ponderous and will be vulnerable to the sort of breaks we have been springing this season from defence.

Would like to see us line up like this;

Pears should keep his spot for now, wouldn't chuck Toth in for this particular game.

Back 4 got a clean sheet, and Tronstad and Travis are the first names on the sheet - so all keep their spots.

Cantwell's flair could be the difference in a game like this, i'd move Dolan to the left to accommodate him in his favoured #10 role - though they could even switch at some point, since Cantwell can play on the left too.

Cozier-Duberry looked lively when he came on, think there's an absolute player in there and would like to see him unleashed on the Nobbers.

Ohashi has to keep his spot after a brace, his confidence will be sky high.

Never confident of a win over Preston, they get very lucky against us it seems - can't see us losing though!

Cantwell doesn't look close to starting to me. At least 2 more sub appearances before he's starting games.

He'll play the same line up I'd imagine, potentially swapping Mak in for Ohashi.

I don’t think Cantwell is anywhere starting yet. I initially read that earlier post as being “ Cantwell’s hair could be the difference in a game like this “ “ instead of “ Cantwell’s flair “. I must remember to clean my reading glasses.

We need a team of 100 percenters out there in a derby, players who aren’t fully up to speed stay on the bench.

i guess it will come down to who is fit and trains this week. Doesn’t sound like Brittain will make it but Pickering and Weimann might.

Flip of a coin on Mak and Ohashi. I’ve gone for Mak because I think he leads the line better but that would be incredibly harsh on Ohashi. Will accept the managers take on it. Would love to see them together

I reckon…

                     Pears

Carter.   Batth.   Hyam.   Beck

              Travis.   Sonny

Weimann     Dolan     Hedges

                      Mak

Subs - Toth, JRC, Mcfadz, Pick, Buckley, Baker, Cantwell, ACD, Ohashi

PNE 1 - 2 Rovers

I really wouldn't even consider leaving Ohashi out. His mobility is better than that of Gueye and in a game in which I believe there will be few chances his goal to chances ratio is far better than any other player. Gueye is a decent option off the bench depending on how things go.

I think we could play 2 up top if we took a leaf out of Luton's book from a couple of years ago and go 352.

                          Pears

          Carter      Hyam    Pickering

Brittain      Travis       Tronstad       Beck

                  Dolan/Wieman

                 Yuki          Gueye

I reckon that would work very well. Beck's made for that marauding LWB role. Quite like to see that lineup at somepoint (though obviously wouldn't change anything at the moment given the run we are on).

In terms of this game I would stick with same team as Bristol - with Gueye, Cantwell, Wieman, Cozier-Duberry, Pickering, SIgurdsson, Brittain, Buckley, JRC all available to come on if needed.

Can't think of when we have had so much on the bench.

Agreed! Ohashi converts chances to goals, whereas Gueye does tend to miss a few.

Can see us needing to defending a 1 goal lead, bringing Gueye on after 60 minutes to be an absolute nuisance would be brilliant if this does turn out to be the case - he'll frustrate and give their tiring defenders something to think about.

Interesting. I like to see two strikers up front and as you say it did the trick for Luton previously. I’d definitely be giving that a go in training and seeing how it worked out.

On another point we’re in a position now when everybody is fit were even our second eleven looks decent.
