ben_the_beast Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Think this will be a tight game. Head says 1-1 but heart is hoping for a narrow win. Quote

Whilst it was a poor performance going forward, I thoroughly enjoyed the clean sheet and credit to all for that. PNE are improving and I would have settled for a draw beforehand. We are all enjoying this unbeaten start to the season, but let's not get carried away. We have now got a problem down our left hand side which will further negate our attacking threat. I'm pretty sure Eustace will play Dolan on the left and Hedges on the right and focus on keeping our shape / clean sheet until later in the game. No easy games in this division. I'm expecting a tough, hard fought battle tomorrow, with few goals. Rovers to win 1-0. Good summary mate. tbf to the manager, he brought on Gueye at half time, and a couple of other forwards / creative players in the second half. It just didn’t work out. Hecky has them defending properly and as soon as they go down to 10 men, then there’s no pressure for them to win the match. The home crowd aren’t going to get restless. 1 Quote
Forever Blue Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 (edited) Tricky game today, QPR have done quite well away from home this season so far. They’ve P3 W1 D2 L0 on the road We’ve won all 3 at home. 1-0 or 1-1 Edited September 28, 2024 by Forever Blue Quote
NeilInBristol Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Game day! Feeling excited about this one! Come on you Rovers Quote
moerpho Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Can we keep the dream going or will we see our first defeat of the season? Hate to say it but we are due one aren’t we? But nothing would make me happier than another 3 points and a big fat zero in the against coloumn. Win today and it’s time to start believing we might make something of this season. As long as we are undefeated every game is like a cup final to me so really digging the tension it brings. Makes it more enjoyable to watch. So I’m going for a thumping 3-0 for Rovers with none of the usual suspects on the score sheet. COYB!!! Quote
rigger Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 If we win by four goals we move up to second, for a couple of hours at least. 3 Quote

waynerovers Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Think we'll win by at least 2 goals. Another clean sheet, I think Toth coming in has given Pears the kick up the back side he needed. He's made some very good saves in last couple of games, just needs to eliminate the silly errors. Quote
Ricceh Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Brittain injury must be quite bad if it's keeping him out the team this long Quote
Forever Blue Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 He’s very pragmatic is Eustace. His first thought is ‘clean sheet’ and I’m all for it. 1 Quote

The loss of Brittain and Beck doesn’t help today. Looks like we are playing with a back 6 plus the keeper. That leaves the other 4 with a lot to do. Quote
chaddyrovers Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Surprised Gueye isn't starting. 6 Quote

Dolan is due a good game after his no-show at Preston. I’ve given up on Hedges as an attacking threat so hopefully I’ve reverse jinxed him! 1 Quote

I don’t think Yuki is seen as effective as a No10 and he’s been very effective as a striker, especially at Ewood. No surprise he’s got the nod over someone who hasn’t scored in the league. Quote
Backroom Tom Posted September 28, 2024 Backroom Posted September 28, 2024 From what I’ve seen this season if Gueye is a available he should start, even if he’s not at his best he gives another dimension to the attack 3 Quote

Carter and Pickering both fairly effective going forwards, Carters had a couple assists hasnt he this season? I do think ohashi and gueye are good signing but not the perfect front two together unfortunately (on paper should be) as we dont play that system. Edited September 28, 2024 by DackDackGoose Quote
Adam C Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 I thought we were poor in the last match until changes were made in the second half. Baker was completely ineffective so I’d like to see Gueye, Ohashi and Dolan as the front three. Love to see cozier duberry get on as well as I think he potentially offers some pace and directness which we are sorely missing. We look solid and capable at the back now but slow and unimaginative with the ball, it’s like there is no outlet. Hopefully as the lads gel we will see more direct balls to gueye, more for ohashi to run on to and another dynamic performance from Travis who has been a revelation this season. Also looking for another good performance from Pears, though I’ll be biting my nails when he is tested and his distribution needs to improve. I’m constantly expecting our good start to evaporate but a few more games undefeated and committed performances and I’ll start to relax! Come on Rovers! 🔵⚪️ Quote
CambridgeRover Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Hope Dolan finally had a good game Quote

So it’s one or t’other, and I’d prefer a striker who can put the ball in the net. Quote
