Southside Rover
Hedges also gets in for height I think. A few times this season when playing long we've aimed out wide because when big Mak isn't on the pitch, Hedges is the tallest forward player

Lancaster Rover
I'd not realised how tall Hedges was until the Morecambe friendly, when you're virtually stood at pitch level.
speeeeeeedie
This game is live on Sky but not on US TV which is a bit annoying as the other early kickoffs at Sheff Wed and Derby games are on.

Old Codger
Another win will increase the levels of sniffage going on from clubs higher up the food chain with managerial question marks, but we have to hope the positive home form continues. Every interview that JE gives reinforces the quality of his approach, and his ability to view the turbulent context of a football club in organisational crisis through an objective and reassuring lens. These are good times from a fan's perspective, with confidence building on and off the field (despite the crass statements and stink emanating from the owners' direction). I don't know much about the QPR lot this season, and to be honest I couldn't give a toss either - we simply have to beat whatever team is in front of us on the day. I hope we get the rub of the green, that our players give as coherent a performance as they have done so far this season and that our spirit and togetherness (heretofore absent perhaps?) lead us to a comfortable win. However, any team can beat any team in this league (we know this too well) so we need to be on our game. Head - Rovers 2 QPR 2 Heart - Rovers knock it out of the Queen's Park 4 Rangers 0 Hand to ball in a hoor huis - Smash and Grab from darn sarf - Ewood Aces 3 QPR 4 COYB! Knock it out of the park! But what if the neutrals who want to watch some football, dont fancy the Premier League game, dont fancy the main Sky Sports Championship game or the other 5 games from the EFL, all on at that time? Surely enough to justify inconveniencing many people who are or plan to attend, including those from London. 2

Not sure it's at that stage yet. We were awful at Dumpdale, tactically poor and he didn't change it up soon enough. Hoping for a win here to get us back on track. I don't know about you but I was disappointed with only a draw against Nob End.

I think we are right on track. No disappointment taken from the PNE game. QPR will be a great opportunity for us to continue our strong start

roversfan99
Of course there is disappointment from the Preston game, we had a man advantage for half a game and couldnt get the win. And in truth, were poor and never looked like winning. That result doesnt mean we havent had a good start to the season and equally that good start doesnt mean that we werent poor last Sunday.
NeilInBristol
Fair fair. I guess we could always do better but it's the context too. Away from home, local rival. Playing against ten men. Relatively new squad. Could argue we set up incorrectly and should have started gueye instead of Yuki against their tall defenders. Well QPR is a game to make that right. I would be disappointed if we play poorly and don't win at QPR
MarkBRFC
I think people are over estimating how good they think we are because we have had a good start. Things will start to balance out soon enough on results, fully expect us to go on a bad run after this next international break with Watford, WBA & Sheffield Utd in consecutive games. I didn't watch the PNE game because it clashed with my lads kick off time, I did keep an eye on it on my phone, and even thought I thought we might win before the game, when they went to 10 men I didn't expect us to win because we're not that good. In fact as soon as it happened I envisaged them doing to us what we did to Burnley. Edited September 26 by MarkBRFC

Having a man advantage doesn’t necessarily translate to a win. We played not great and PNE played well. We’d have lost that game in previous seasons. No disappointment here.

Last season early doors we scraped to wins against Watford and Middlesbrough with both sides dominating us for the majority, and the same thing was said then that "we would have lost that last season". Yet the season before that we were scraping odd goal wins galore in the first half of the season. It's a really odd statement.

It obviously means we are more resilient now than last season when it all fell apart under JDT… and when we capitulated to sheff weds and Bristol city under Eustace. so not that odd really. So more resilient now than under a 2 month period from last season, or from a couple of games towards the end, where we beat the side that was second in the league in between with a back to the walls performance? What about the games I mentioned? Or all the draws under Eustace from last season? They were pretty resilient. Suppose we can pick out points at any time of any season in history where we might have lost, so there's some truth to it I suppose. Just seems to me one of those thrown out comments that gets used a lot but doesn't really mean anything. When we hit a bad run later in the season, but scab a 1-0 early next season with a huge defensive job will we be saying the same thing, ignoring the early season games from this one?

We didn’t play particularly well and got a draw away from home. Last season when we played badly we got spanked quite a few times. The team is quite clearly more resilient. It’s probably not worth over-thinking.
Lancaster Rover
We played well and got a few spankings last year too. I think that is the difference this year (albeit a very small sample) we've played well and won, played badly and won and played badly and drawn.

But we had a big advantage for 45 minutes and didnt make it count or even threaten to. Certainly disappointment and frustration from me coming away and seemingly a number of others. As @MarkBRFC touches on, dont get this idea that we would have lost that in previous seasons. Especially as comparisons are mainly to games with 11 v 11.
