Can't understand why West Brom didn't play Johnston from the get go. Top player who gave us a hard time in the 10 minutes he was on the pitch, I think the result would've been different if he'd started.

Which team was hanging at the end pal ? Rovers or West Brom ?

I never felt we were hanging on at any point. We are well drilled defensive and organised under Eustace

I’m 75 and I could have done what Sigurdsson did. Did he actually touch the ball? Anybody with a pulse would have been an improvement.

You said you were at the game so surely you know that answer given you were Sigurdsson's watch?

Neither?

I thought we were hanging on to a point at the end and were really glad to hear the final whistle. There was only one team that looked like scoring at the end and it wasn’t Rovers.

They created very little in the second half.

But a draw is fine tonight, particularly if we follow it up with a win at the weekend now.

I can't see us doing that tbh. Hoped the international break would freshen up some legs but it isn't looking like it.

I dont agree. He did his job.

I'm not arsed about being pleasing on the eye, I bothered about effective football and picking up points. I dont want to be anywhere the relegation battle and under Eustace I think we will be top half at least

I said previously, I hold up my hands up and admitted I was wrong to staunchly defending JDT. Also factor he was falling out with players like Brittain and Wharton.

You seem to have a real problem with Eustace's approach.

Is exciting and risk seeking football going to produce better record and points totally?

Eustace is a head coach who approach his tactics and style depending who we are playing. He wasnt willing to go all.out attack against WBA and good tactical coach in Carlos Corberan.

Would yourself differently in terms of tactics and style?

It's by design, The 3 behind the striker all roam and interchange. Cantwell is allow to roam and by coming from the left isnt going to pick up.

You are either mistakenly or purposely misinterpreting what I am saying to try. How you have concluded that I have a problem with Eustace is a figment of your imagination.

The football is boring, he is very defensively focused. But I keep saying that its a results game and the points tally and league position is good. I also said earlier that because he has a very limited set of attackers lacking in pace and goals, it makes sense to be pragmatic. I certainly havent demanded that he plays risk seeking football, think back a year, you was saying that Tomasson was right to do that and I was asking for him to reign things in.

The irony is, in 2 years or whenever Eustace has gone, you will be the one saying how you are glad and that we need someone who can play more attacking football. That is what you do with managers, you defend them without fail when here (even creating arguments that arent there) and then "in retrospect" decide that actually you are glad they are gone. See Tomasson and Mowbray.

He's not had many shots to save.

They've done a stellar job of protecting him this season.

They have, I can only think of Plymouth where he made a reasonable number of saves. He hasnt been without his jitters, he threw one in at Coventry and there have been a number of occasions where errors he has made didnt lead to goals. He did a couple last night, spilled a couple at Coventry, passed the ball to a Norwich player 6 yards out when Tronstad saved him, he ran into no mans land at Burnley and Foster headed wide and he ran out stupidly against Derby where Mendez Laing miscued a lob over him.

In terms of defending, Hyam has had a better season than he has been given credit for.

Cos you repeating the same points about boring football or being defensively. Almost like beating him with a stick cos it's not attacking exciting game.

Eustace is flexible and adaptable with his tactics and style. Rovers are 5th highest in terms of goals scored. We kept 5 clean sheets in our first 11 games. Eustace is a good coach and understand what is required in the Championship

I was wrong as I stated shortly afterwards. I hold up my hands I was wrong. Can you do so?

Correct, but it was a bit of a fluke wasn't it? It was hardly a well executed set piece. Dolan pinballing it off either their defender or Gueye then past the keeper.

I don't see much invention or set up at all. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

True it wasn't a pretty goal, but you said we never score off corners.

Doesn't matter how it goes in, we took a corner and it ended up in the back of the net.

I agree with you there. I’ll be watching tomorrow’s game more out of a sense of duty than the thought of being excited and entertained. I’m not knocking Eustace, I appreciate what he’s trying to do with the poor hand he’s been dealt. However anyone who thinks we aren’t playing dull, turgid, football at the moment mustn’t be watching the same game as I am.

I was be watching tomorrow's game cos I'm a diehard Rovers fan. Rovers have a very good start to the season. 5th top league goalscorers and joint 5th in number of clean sheets.

We played a very good organised team under one of the best coaches in the league, did you not expect us to get defensively solid and organised against WBA

At least they gave Pears something to do. Their keeper could have gone and got a pie and a pint in that last 15 minutes.

Nothing of note. All routine.

Stats points a very even game. At no point in the second half did I feel we would conceded. Hyam outplayed and keep their striker Maja very quiet.

Happy Corberan didn't bring Johnston on Wallace earlier.

It all seems like a misguided defence of the manager with a bit of a superfan narrative thrown in.

We have scored 4 in 6 and 2 of those came against a side who had gone down to 10 men. Those suggesting that the football is boring are also saying that playing pragmatic football that isnt easy on the eye is understandable due to the squad available. No one has said that the start isnt good either, football is a results game and the table shows that so far, the approach is working.

5th in goals scored won't last long at all.

Let me be perfectly clear; Eustace is achieving what he set out to. Make us incredibly hard to beat, at home at least. He's done very well in that regard.

But we won't score many playing this way and anyone looking for entertainment should look elsewhere.

Same old boring comments about superfan as per usual with yourself

It's doesn't matter whether they had 10 men or 11 men. We won and played better than we did at PNE.

Eustace is flexible and adaptable head coach who is a good job here sadly some of you are expecting perfection and has Eustace this squad is work in progress. Eustace is pragmatic head coach just like Mark Hughes was during his time. He is getting more out of the squad than many expected before the season.

The squad is more than decent enough to finish top half pushing towards the playoffs.

the game is about results,i don`t care how we play as long as we get them, though relying on a defence with hyam and pears in it is going to lead to a few losses in away games,we`ve  already capitulated in two away games

Winning games and being in the play off places is entertaining enough for me.

Joint fourth in the table after 11 games is commendable. Makes me wonder where we'd be if we hadn't sold the Champ top scorer, or at the very least replaced him.

We have a tough couple of fixtures coming up, let's see where we are on Nov 2nd at 3pm.
