Rumours that Sigurdsson refused to play for the U21s last game so it seems his time here is up. Pathetic attitude, with 6 months left on his contract in Jan I doubt we'll get much of a fee though, and that will probably be our budget, minus a cut for the twats in Pune.

where did you hear that pal , I heard nothing .

These are the sorts of people we cheer and look up to, week in, week out.

I know they aren’t all the same, but no wonder we are in a mess.

Sheffield United showed yesterday what is needed to get out of this league. They were physically strong and we couldn't handle it. I look at us and see Hyam, Brittain, Sigurdsson, Dolan, Hedges and others. Sigurdsson and Dolan should absolutely be sold in January - the former has contributed next to nothing whilst being one of the top paid players at the club and Dolan right now doesn't justify a new deal.

My main worry is having such a luxury player in Cantwell and having no one else around him to support.

I think we need a whole new front line built around him, mainly 2 quick direct wingers...We need to act on this in January, because if we don't and have another flop of a season, I imagine cantwell will get fed up and will want to move on...Then we're back to square one.

He wasn't on the bench v Sheff Utd so this seems entirely credible. With that attitude I suspect he's done here . No great loss.

Been saying it for 12 months now Siggurdson ain't interested in cutting it here he's always struck me as the type who thinks he's entitled to a spot in the side on reputation instead of what he puts in to it.

Total luxury player and a passenger mostly.

Yes if he left we are yet more quality down in the squad but if he isn't showing it then what is the point we could desperately put those big wages to better use, hopefully.

In keeping with Waggots previous in January's though they'd replace him with a kid on a few grand a week.

Nixon linking us with a January loan for a young Polish midfielder from Arsenal,Michal  Rosiak aged 19.

We need pace out wide, another striker and a centre back before looking to loan in more kids that Eustace won't trust

He took all the free kicks for Arsenal against our U21s last week.  Looked quite technical, but I agree, Other positions are surely a greater priority for what will surely be a tiny budget, and Eustace wouldn't play him ahead of Travis and Tronstad, so seems a waste.

Edit - Just thought that it might make sense (from Waggotts perspective) as a cost cutting measure if for instance Bakers loan is cut short

Absolutely no idea whether there is any truth in it but I did say at the match, that he might have thrown his toys out of the pram. I don’t advocate it but I can see how it might have come about, technically he is a far better player than Dolan and many others that get a shirt and with results going against us, I imagine he is incredibly unhappy about not starting, or getting a fair chance.

Admittedly, he has shown very little in a Rovers shirt but has always been in a struggling team, injured and almost always played out of his favoured 10 playmaker role. He is certainly not a winger.

Says a lot about our summer business that we signed 2 strikers, 3 further attacking players and 2 centre backs if you include McFadzean and we still need to sort all of those attacking positions out. And we still have Pears in net too.

For me Pears performances this season have reduced the pressure to replace him. We still need an upgrade in goals, but we need upgrades in other positions even more.

Still need two fullbacks as well.

Any attacker at the club who isn't starting should be banging on Eustace's door and demanding to know why they can't get game time.

We can't score goals and Dolan and Hedges and consistently poor

I wouldn't say all his performances this season. He has been reasonable for the most part in the last few games. There was definitely a point I wanted him dropped for Toth, but his current form has been acceptable.

He hardly looks undroppable though, and I wouldn't say he had a good game last time out. A decent keeper is probably stopping one of those goals, Hyam spared his blushes with that clearance on the line, and the saves he did make were fairly basic. Definitely a concern if Toth isn't considered a better keeper (guess time will tell on that though).

And the answer would be that they're worse than Dolan and Hedges. Except for possibly ACD, who mostly has struggled to play due to injury niggles (but for me should have had more game time when he was fit).

Personally I would say that Markanday is better than Dolan, but he is another number ten, and we have got better  players for that position.

When he was here everybody was giving Markanday dogs abuse and saying he wasn't even a League One player. As soon as he plays a couple of games I'm sure I'd be seeing comments saying 'not good enough, get rid as soon as possible' etc.

Personally I don't mind him and think he's a useful squad player (don't think his goal contribution numbers are any better than Ty's though). But that's the problem, we have lots of useful squad players up there, but nobody who can rip up the league or be a guaranteed starter we can all be happy with, so everybody throws exaggerated insults at the players we do have, because we are over-reliant on average and below average players, so we misfire too often.

i think markanday has found his level,he`s not good enough for the championship

dolan is better than dilan, dolans problem is like reda khadra,he has`nt got a clue what to do with the football when he`s got it,he gets in decent positions, finds space but when he`s got the ball his brain tells him to do the wrong thing,in essence,he has`nt got any footballing intelligence
