Mowbray did a better job of neutralising him. He just played him on the right wing.

Giles has been good for a spell everywhere hes been except here under the great Teeside Midtable man.

I obviously wish him nothing but the best but the Giles scenario summed up how much Tony had lost the plot here.

there was an away game at swansea when the middlesboro maestro did put giles in his best left back slot,he put over some fantastic crosses, unfortunately for us,our tony set the team with no strikers and that false nine b*****s,when the beatifully flighted crosses did come over there was nobody there to head them in,from that point i was definately anti mogga,it`s one of the most ridiculous games iv`e ever seen

I think the owners' input into January will be zilch. They won't know, or care, about how we are performing on the pitch or in the table, they are employing two shysters to run it day to day and give them minimal hassle or expense. So there's no decisions for them to make. They've set the budget for the year and given their instructions to their henchmen. That's that.

So why don't they sell?

Giles isnt good enough defensively as an out and out left back. We had come off a very successful half season where we had got to 2nd playing without out and out strikers, but with Brereton and Khadra as sort of inside forwards and Buckley in the middle. Such a system did work for a while as we were winning every week.

His use of Giles was strange but then again, I do think this idea that he was a massive wasted talent and a big factor in our decline is overstated. He was getting loads of assists at Cardiff mainly from set pieces in what was a team of giants with the likes of Aden Flint and Keiffer Moore. He has never replicated that since.

He did bag loads of assists at Boro too.

Really can't see us finding the funds/matching wages for Cornet.

Just seen Isaiah Jones is wanting to leave Boro. Always thought he was a decent player, possible loan for us??
Not impacted as much this season but did well season before.

Cornet seems unlikely. Would welcome Jones with open arms, very good player.

Cornet’s had his share of injury problems in the past. Another one of those players who like to fly off the mark. Harry Chapman was one. Most of them pay the price.

Waggot is gonna push the boat out and get us a 99!!

But that will be the budget blown.

Of all the expiring contracts Hedges is the last I would be looking to renew. More than likely the cheapest though, so that's likely the explanation there.

Imagine Travis and Tronstad especially will be looking for decent wage hikes, and we know Dolan is likely out of reach.

He’s started four times in the last couple of years.

It is very easy for someone like him to sit around a table in December with a group of fans and tell them what people want to hear, knowing full well they are going to go off and spread his word around the fanbase, particularly at a time when things are going well or are quiet. It is free and easy positive publicity.

It is something else entirely to actually get these owners or board to put their hands into their pockets, part with cash, make the effort and get things done. That is difficult and expensive, two things that are the opposite of what Waggott wants.

it`s a 100% waggott trick, deceive everyone then melt away and let others take the blame when the lies become reality

Fuck sake. Not the move a club with any shred of ambition would do. He has achieved very little year on year and has also had issues with injuries in the last 18 months.

Good job we aren't a club with any ambition then.

Couldn't agree more - he isn't good enough, not by a million miles.

We did the same with Gallagher - took a player who should have been booted down the road at the earliest opportunity and offered him a new deal.

Meanwhile we never come to terms with any one who actually warrants it (apart from Wharton) where  the plan was to flog him immediately after.
