Its Venkys that are forcing this on us with their lack of investment. 3 Quote

roverblue Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Wouldn’t be surprised if Gestede is the next out the door after another failed window. We seem to like a revolving door in the scouting department. Quote

No, thought summer window was ok given the budget we evidently had. Not sure who that was down to though. This time it’s all on Waggot’s protege/fall guy Rudy. Quote

It was, in the sense that we didn't get a scoring striker to replace Sammi. We got a few players but its short-term stuff isn't it? No planning for the longer-term just functioning from one season to the next. Quote

No, I know, it was just trying to make the best of a bad job with minimal money to spend. What I meant was, with no money it was better than the windows with no money under the previous recruitment regime. Quote
roversfan99 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 There was very little money yet it seemed like we were flush with cash compared to last summer. Quote

Roverthechimp Posted January 3 Posted January 3 (edited) When are Wharton and Carter expected to be “back”? Can’t see signing a CB being priority if they are back next season whilst we still have mcfadz on the books. Dolan I like but I think he feels undervalued and will get more money (if not game time) elsewhere Buckley - taxi please Striker needed, winger (or modern equivalent) and a left back are next on the list. Will we sign anyone other than loans - no because we are already achieving the requirements (ie staying in championship) edit: Leonard needs to play regularly for someone and possibly work on adapting his game to the modern game as my feeling has always been “poacher” in terms of skillset Edited January 3 by Roverthechimp Quote

So end of this month maybe. Wharton was said to be out for a year at the time of his injury….that was in April/May. Quote

So Nyambe was wrong about being able to get a better contract elsewhere, but Brereton, Lenihan and Rothwell were all correct. Certainly sounds like we can't/won't pay the going rate for the most part. Quote
rob_of_the_rovers Posted January 3 Posted January 3 The last time we earned more points in the second half of a season than in the first was when we were in league one. Got to think our awful January business has contributed to that. 4 Quote
Trinidad Rover Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I can foresee nothing happening for 3.5 weeks then the usual last day scramble to secure 1 or 2 crap loans. With Park leaving and the shambolic way we run scouting/transfers, it’s hard to believe there has been any sort of plan in place to identify targets before the window. Look at other clubs making moves already. Would love to be proved wrong but this is Venkys and precedent tees us all up for disappointment. Another wasted opportunity with us in the top 6 again and Eustace doing a fabulous job.. Or will we see third time lucky after ballsing up both opportunities under Mowbray and JDT? 2 Quote

Pears has proven himself this season bar a few tiny blips but he's been a huge part of why we are where we are now. Hindsight I do feel like Toth was a waste of money. I mean he was dubbed as having won this won that... not seen him play yet I know he was injured but feel bad for him not getting minutes Quote

neophox Posted January 3 Posted January 3 (edited) Remember Szmodicz and Wharton both left for big money last year. FFP no problems so time to give it a shot! Add Raya money to that. Edited January 3 by neophox Quote
