And to think we had Maja pretty much sorted and managed to fuck it up. I didn’t realise Riis was out of contract in the summer. Would make sense for PNE to move him on for a fee now.

We need a bit more up front and I think that’s something that we can both agree on. I’d be quite happy with a top half L1 loan for Leonard and a permanent and a better striker in on loan. I’d be very happy if that ended up being Riis and Danns.

It was, he missed the first half of the season injured. He then had a sticky loan spell at Stoke when he regained fitness in the second half of the season.

As it was another summer of selling a big asset (Armstrong) and not reinvesting anything, it would have just been a loan anyway and he would have gone back in the summer.

Mowbray should have gone back in for Maja in the January window. Even 18 months ago we could have Maja in on free instead of Ennis and Telalovic. 

Preston have a decision to make there on Riis. Sell him for a fee and buy someone else with it

I very much doubt that theyd sell him for that even considering his contract situation, with it being mid season and especially to us.

And im not convinced we have a million to spend on a fee. 

Maja and Rhys Healey became your obsessions for a while. Maja's goals this season have come from nowhere really, his last few seasons bar a flurry in Ligue 2 havent suggested this was round the corner. Healey has done nothing.

You're not wrong, but that's the thing with attacking players with pace - they're far more likely to find good form or improvement out of nowhere. Even Szmodics and, to a certain extent, BBD are examples of this.

I liked our shape against Boro with Leonard creating a defensive front four when their centre halves had the ball. I also liked how he reacted in the transitions and a lot of his movement around the box.

Another striker however is still required. But when you read that the likes of Bamford and BBD are on circa 30k to 35k per week it demonstrates what a tough challenge it is to get decent value.

I would imagine specifically a Gestede signing, based on the quote from Forshaw below

The club leaks we had of names over the summer seem to have stopped now Park has left. So either we have nothing close to a striker/winger signing or the club is doing a good job of not revealing any names.
