Have a hunch Aasgard is a long term target for the club.

Will be an affordable salary and will probably get flogged in 1/2 years for a good fee, would be a smart investment.

They will want at least £3M, I can't see us spending that which is a shame because he's one hell of a player. Only 22 with 160+ first team appearances already. Norway international. Get Tronstad and Pedersen on the phone.

Looks a baller. Swiss international, contract expires at the end of the season...

Makes sense! Which is exactly why we won't be anywhere near it.

You know what they say about the Swiss too, their flags a big plus

Remember watching that Aasgaard doing shooting practice before the friendly game against us at the DW last year, he's one of those players who has that extra oomph in his shots. You could hear the net ripple or the goalies gloves make a sound whenever he shot. I think we were linked with him back then? So took extra notice!

I think he could be a Szmodics type (number 10 who can play midfield or up front) and having a good season. That said I'd guess he'd be a couple of million? Do we have any budget to spend?

Cardiff, who are battling relegation, have just signed a striker for up to 3.2million.

That can't be right because we've raked in £40m over the last 18months and we can't spend anything, due to FFP or whatever the latest excuse is.

Should have been looking at this seeing as we looked in summer.

On over £20k a week - non-starter.

He is a good player tbf (despite his spotty injury record), but it's not about that at Blackburn Rovers... it's all about saving money for the overlords. Actually improving the playing squad is waaaaay down the pecking order.

Exactly the type of player we should be signing if we are serious about following the Brentford model.

But we actually know that is a load of old bollocks, we just make it up as we go along flogging off whatever we can.

Do you ever watch our lot warm up at Ewood?

Markanday was legit the best finisher on the team, by quite a margin (even better than Szmodics in that shooting drill). The rest are so hit and miss, it's no wonder we struggle to score goals.

It was more the power than the accuracy. Some players just have that explosiveness in their shots, a lot don't. He's obviously still a little raw as he wouldn't be in League One otherwise.

Sheffield United and Sunderland are bidding £10m plus £3m for Tom Cannon

So... £13m?

Remember seeing something like that yesterday, let them crack on! He's worth nowhere near that.

It's amazing Leicester have made a PROFIT on Cannon. Bought him for £8m, just to have him, never played him, loaned him out a few times and now are making £5m+ whatever loan fees they've banked for him.

Bonkers.

I wonder whether our disgraceful conduct in the last few January transfer windows is also making life harder work for us. I mean having no money is obviously the biggest issue but if we were to approach another club and attempt to engage them in negotiations over one of their players, they'd be pretty brave (or foolish) to get involved in a drawn out affair with Rovers knowing what has gone on here with O'Brien and McGuire (and others?) in recent years and the damage that has done.

Despite the best efforts of some to make out as though this is all in the past and nothing at all to do with Rovers now that Broughton and Silvester have gone ultimately its the same owners, same CEO, same shady individuals in the shadows.

Taking one hell of a risk getting involved with such people. Word will spread on the grapevine about what sort of a club this is to do business with.
