We are very much to be solid, boring mid-table side. Some might argue that's better than playing your way into relegation like we did at the end of JDT's tenure. Personally I'm torn. 

Well that style of play has Forest 2nd in the Premier League.

It can be very successful, but you need FAR more pace than we have.

As much as I like Leonard's potential, we looked much better when Gueye came on. The ball actually stuck upfront.

Saw on X. Link to an Italian local paper. Roughly translates to say a Blackburn representative was at the Cesena game on Sunday to watch Augustus Kargbo. Game finished 0-0 and he was subbed off.

On a very limited budget we need players that are going to improve our team in the current formation we play.

I don't want to shoehorn players in because they can score goals i.e. Aasgard on the LW. I want a fast LW/RW who will open up a myriad of options to us in attack. 

Otherwise you're essentially just putting 'better' players (is Aasgard more of a goal scorer than Weimann?) in the same situations - someone out of position being asked to convert limited chances because the team as a whole has to play a certain way due to the physical limitations of the attack.

Issue is his goal return and also the amount being spent (if happens). I imagine the 1.7m quoted is probably our budget (great if theres more)...Flogging the whole budget on a player, who we probably won't get anymore value back on, is a risk. Also its yet another player where feedback from the current club is poor.

I would normally agree, but the current market is bizarre, if he scored 5-10 goals in the second half of the season one of the relegated teams or a team with parachute payments would happily gamble £ on a 27 year old striker scoring goals in the championship ( I know this is a big IF)

He's 5'8" so I assume he's being looked at as a winger.

Dion Sanderson struggled to even play in an inferior league this season. Adam Foreshaw struggled in an inferior team. They're both here.

Given the way Eustace has us set up, pace is what we need above all else. 

Even a headless chicken who can stay onside would give the other 10 (including keeper's option of the long punt against a high line defense) new possibilities. Rover having pace would change the whole dynamics of how teams set up against us. 

Oppositions are comfortable deploying a multiple player high press knowing there is nobody from Rovers who can simply run away from them and not be caught. None of our forwards is capable of breaking clear of a Championship back line. We have seen all our forwards get out sprinted when they have had a clear run at goal, most notably ACD v Hull and Gueye at Boro recently.

If Asante is genuinely quick, he could be what we need.

I cannot remember specifically when he's played against us but my recollection of associating his name with being a real threat in games we have faced him in.

To start off - I maintain, BTA is shite.

I've bagged on him quite a lot since the link came up earlier I must say... but I will admit one thing about the lad - he's definitely not as shit as Makhtar Gueye, despite the fact that Gueye has more goal contributions this season.

Gueye is possibly the worst footballer i've ever seen, how he's got to this level is a mystery...

Now, if we could offload Gueye for half of what we paid for him, and replace him with BTA for something more around £1m - then i'd agree with many that it'd be good business, and certainly an upgrade.

Trying to be less negative about how shit BTA is.

Yes, I think you are right there. Just watched a highlight reel on YouTube of him and he seems to operate on the left. Looks very pacey.

Gueye did well, when players on both sides were knackered and we were being forced back to the edge of our own box. 

As a team we looked much more fluid with an out and out striker. Even though JRC, Buckley and Weimman were all playing. Our team set up doesn't support Gueyes attributes and he has had a lot of chances to prove different.

Everyone will judge him in a Rovers shirt and obviously players will sometimes over or under perform based on expectations.

But equally, nothing wrong with having opinions on a player before he signs.
