Unfortunately, there a 2.5 million reasons why our Owners won't allow this to happen...

We should have had our ducks in a row as soon as we knew Ohashi was going to be out for a while. No excuses. They just couldn’t care less. Backroom DE. Posted January 17 Backroom Share Posted January 17 If WBA want to keep a steady position in this division that falls somewhere between 7th and mid-table then TM is probably a shrewd appointment. If their plan is to get promoted then probably less so. Depends what their aim and general situation as a club is. Mowbray did some good here and he did some bad, as any manager would after 5 years or so. Ultimately he simply stayed on past his best before date and we didn't have anyone in a higher position to make the correct call to move on and try something new. Anyway, as far as transfers are concerned, if we fail to bring in a decent attacker in this window then Eustace will deserve manager of the season if we finish in the top half.

I'd say if we were serious about it we'd be in a very strong position to win it. But like you said, probably not true. Also isn't his dad Neil Danns?

I'd say if we were serious about it we'd be in a very strong position to win it. But like you said, probably not true. He's 19 and has played like 3 times for Liverpool - he needs a run of games so they'll definitely be loaning him out. A loan fits our business model of not committing serious spending to any assets too, so I'm sure we're well in the hunt. It'll probably be up to Danns to choose where he goes. alex l
26 minutes ago, roverandout said: Agree with most of that but if we'd have gone up in his mind he could have thought the club would go for a bigger name plus if we had gone straight back down his position could have been under threat. Sailing along nicely in the championship would have suited him If we'd have gone up you'd have thought he'd have had a substantial bonus built into his contract, along with wage increase. It would also have improved his ability to negotiate elsewhere by having another promotion on his CV. The argument it was financially better for him for us to stay in the second tier never made sense.
Fraserkirky
Sell Dolan for any amount and put towards Aasgard given Danns lineage and our success with Liverpool loans we should be the top choice for the boy Edited January 17 by Fraserkirky

roversinmyblood
If we could get Danns on loan, a loan or cheap left winger(must be decent though, obviously) and put all our resources into getting Asgard then I would be delighted. He is a top player now with plenty of potential. Icing on the cake would be to sell Dolan and get Assanti. £300k would also secure Pinder Binson from Reading who is supposed to be a real top class prospect. den
Our needs for a striker have been known for many months. The head of football operations has known for months. Here we are middle of Jan and I do wonder what he’s been doing.

Popular Post SuperBrfc
On the Mowbray topic, Firstly, it's good to see him back in the game and hopefully well enough to take on another managerial role. I don't wish ill on the guy. However, let's not forget the role Mowbray played in further lowering expectations at this club in order to save his own back. "The owners wanted a double promotion. I had to calm them down and I told them we need to build gradually". Why? I also think some of his comments have had a profound impact on large parts of our fanbase. The effects of which are still being felt/heard today. Talk about going for promotion under JDT and even today, and you are met with "be realistic, ffp, parachute clubs" etc by a lot of our fans. Some of it based on reason, but a lot of it IMO, due to Mowbray saying "you need £100m in order to go up", him talking about "doing it the right way" and labelling Luton and such similar promotions as 'miracles'. Our fanbase has lapped this up in the main and has taken to blaming other Rovers fans for "being negative" and "spoilt" for not accepting any of the above. Then we have another scenario whereby, any fan/poster who calls out this hierarchy and its lack of ambition is met with "you're stuck in the 90s, we don't have Shearer and Sutton anymore" yada yada. This is happening across social media (not so much on here) and in the real world. Somebody please point me towards one Rovers fan that is unhappy with Venky's because they are not seeing a repeat of 1995. It's nothing but a false, cheap shot, IMO, fuelled by Mowbray's "it's not 1995 anymore" comment. A comment that was made to save his own skin. Did anybody hear barbs about 1995 from some of our own fans towards unhappy fans under Bowyer, Lambert, Coyle? I don't remember hearing such back then. This 1995 nonsense has taken hold since Mowbray said it, IMO. Let's not even get on to him likening Rovers to a small car and Sunderland a huge tanker as he was departing. Good that he is back in the game and ok health wise, but I would never want him back at Rovers.
