If you search on this message board around 2017 you will find information. If they put their trust in this 'man', which I believe they do, they will think he's giving them good, reliable feedback. On the face of it him and Waggott will be great guys, raking cash in from players and spending fuck all in return, because we're a top 6 team, for a few more days anyway. After which it'll be too late to sign reinforcements when we're languishing on 10th and below. This is what worries me. TM was able to get the owners to invest because he'd go out there and speak directly to them. Now it seems that they leave Suhail to run the club and make the decisions. Unfortunately for us, he clearly has zero interest in us doing any more than treading water in the Championship (at best). Once JE leaves - and he will soon - we are a poor appointment away from League 1. 8 Quote

But its this idea that Venkys are only not investing because theyve not been asked or told not to, by Suhail, before that by Waggott, before that by Mowbray, as is if they would willingly spend otherwise and it just so happens that various individuals have all simply not requested it. Its a load of bollocks. Even if it had any truth to it, obviously it would still be their responsibility anyway having trusted these people and not shown enough interest to notice that we do need money reinvesting, but still. If we spent a bit and went up, surely they would look even better in the owners eyes. Hes just a snake and a lapdog either way. But even if he went, same with Waggott perhaps to a lesser degree, another puppet would replace him and the problem would still remain. We all know Suhail is the owners go to man without anonymous attention seeking twitter accounts or indeed anyone of a similar ilk suggesting as such. Hes clearly very close them hence that grotesque picture of him and Balaji that keeps doing the rounds offending our eyes. The fact that we are talking about this deep into a transfer window with a game 2 days away that we can barely name 12 players for tells you a lot. 4 Quote

We arent their main business interest, in fact as you can probably tell they have very little interest in us at all. It's quite normal in business to have someone like Suhail running foreign operations and giving feedback, raising issues and concerns. It would be VERY easy to spin a tale to them that we're doing OK at the moment and don't need money. We're still in the top 6, punching above our weight so to speak. As absent owners they'll be delighted with that! I am not for one minute saying the Venkys are sweet innocent badly advised cheeky chappys just to be clear - they're cunts too. 4 Quote
islander200 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 39 minutes ago, Ossydave said: Let be completely honest here. The more we spend, the less Suhail gets in his bonus, its not rocket science. He's their eyes and ears, he fills them with shit, he's effectively got the perfect job for a scumbag rat, raking in money for doing fuck all. In fact the less he does the more he will probably earn. Some gig, the twat. Surely Waggott and Suhail would be in line for even bigger bonuses if promotion was achieved? In the summer the shit is gonna hit the fan. The loans go back. The .The players out of contract gone. No real asset that can be sold for serious cash. The players out of contract in 2026 will have to be sold for less than their market value or kept and then leave on a free the summer after. I mean plenty of stupid shit has gone on but the owners ain't aware of this?Suhail is just allowed to get on with it and Venkys are never informed of the situation of the club?I find that hard to believe We have no impediment to spending this window ffp wise so I don't see why Waggott and Suhail would be against adding an asset or two in this window If promotion isn't achieved then at least might have someone can be sold for profit down the line Quote
roversfan99 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I find it bizarre that even now, all these years in. Having seen so many people (both in terms of managers and staff and also at board level where we have had many lap dogs) at the various levels of the organisation in this country. That people thing the primary reason for the inefficiencies, for the lack of reinvestment, for the lack of plan, is anything other than solely on Venkys. The common denominator. People even still nowadays thinking thats its the ulterior motive of people over here, or the lack of merely asking for money, as to why we are run in such a stripped down way. As if they would otherwise oblige and spend if asked. Quote
Trinidad Rover Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Very obvious now that John Park leaving was a sign of what was to come. He clearly saw the writing on the wall, zero investment coming and walked. Don’t blame him. What does that other new guy do? Adam Owen? 3 Quote
Popular Post unleaded Posted January 22 Popular Post Posted January 22 Looks like Rovers are stepping up interest in the winger Augustas Kargbo …Think he’s a better bet then some Premier League raw talent like Godo as we already got ACD ! Hoping it comes to fruition… 17 Quote

I always console myself with that. They were great days Den but I’d be happy to return to how the club was being run under Williams and Allardyce. We didn’t know how lucky we were and how fragile it all was. I look at the likes of Brentford (really?) and Bournemouth (!!!) in the Premier League and Burnley 🤢 and how well they are managed and our predicament is so frustrating Quote
roversfan99 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Kargbo seems to have struggled in Serie B. Another Telalovic? Quote
OnionBalaji Posted January 22 Posted January 22 No need to panic that we haven’t done anything yet, we have £40m in sales and the lights are on. we all know the best transfer deals happen, and best players avail at the end of the window… all is fine 🙄 2 Quote

Neal Posted January 22 Posted January 22 (edited) Kargbo certainly a C or D list choice which should show you what the 'budget' is... Make no mistake, this is a hit and hope type signing (if it happens) who is totally unprepared for the rough and tumble of the championship. We've obviously asked about all the preferred championship experienced attacking players and realised we've absolutely no chance. Now we're back to buying random obscure players. Hopefully we get lucky but I'm extremely skeptical that this one will be anywhere near good enough to excell in the championship. Edited January 22 by Neal 5 Quote

JHRover Posted January 22 Posted January 22 People like O'Brien, Brereton, Schlupp, Asante and the other known names we have been 'linked' with were never going to happen. Most sensible people know that and therefore there's no point in having a discussion or expressing an opinion on their suitability, and no, the club doesn't get any credit for 'trying' but failing to get them. I suspect our 'interest' went as far as ringing up Forest/Southampton/Coventry, asking if they might be available on loan and if so what minimum % of their weekly wage they'd be willing to accept us contributing. All probably gave us short shrift as they will want to prioritise a sale and if going down the loan route will want the bulk of their wages covering, which we are clearly not willing to pay. I really have to wonder what else they have been doing for the last 3 weeks. Waiting and hoping that one of these clubs suddenly changes their minds or drops their demands possibly but that's a daft approach given how unlikely it is to happen. 6 Quote

We are so unprofessional. 13 Quote

If Waggott does leave would we even replace him or just promote Gestede to Waggott role? That isn't correct. Chief Operations Officer comes below Chief Executive Officer in the hierarchy. Rovers' own website lists him below Waggott in the structure. He might 'run the show' but he is beneath Waggott in title, and Waggott takes ultimate responsibility and accountability for the performance of the organisation. Technically he reports to Waggott. On what planet could promoting Gestede to such a role be justified or make any sense given he has only worked at the club for a little over 6 months and in a role totally different to CEO?
