Isn't Shpendi more a centre forward whereas Kargbo more a wide forward/support striker?

Cissoko absolutely tore us a new one when we played Plymouth earlier in the season, was the best player on the pitch by a distance - I even remember stating how I wish we had a player like that.

On Morgan Whittaker - I know we aren’t in a position to be ‘picky’ but glad we don’t have the resources to be in for him 

bad attitude by all accounts coming from Swansea and now Plymouth fans

 Not showing up is a joke and not a good character trait many manager would like

At this point I’d take forest whittaker if it meant a body through the door. Attitudes can be worked on, a certain mr savage pulled a similar stunt to force a move to us back in the day

I'd love to just go and spend the day at Brockhall and see what they do all day, this lot must be the biggest set of slackers on the planet.

There are 11 days left of the window, we have 11 senior players out injured and an away game in 2 days...

What the fuck are they actually doing? Have they really not been doing anything to prepare for the window?

We're plummeting and on the brink of freefall, but the reality is that we're actually still in a playoff position - if they act quickly this could be recovered, but why is there no urgency?!

It's shambolic. There are very few (if any) other Clubs that are this amateur. It's an absolute circus down there, genuinely embarrassing.

Watched a video of Kargbo. I usually don't put much stock in them, but it did appear he was often playing centrally, rather than out wide. 

Looking at his stats, if he really does play as a support striker or centre forward, the fact he's not scored since October is very worrying. As is the fact he's not an automatic starter for a middling Serie B side. 

The fact he undoubtedly cost absolutely peanuts will go in his favour. Always willing to give a player a chance, but if he is one of our main targets it looks like pure desperation. Telalovic style gamble, based on some underlying stats, conveniently ignoring that he's playing in a shite league.

Its flawed logic to say well Szmodics and Brereton started scoring as if you can sign anyone and it might happen. They are the exceptions to the the rule. And even then, Brereton was very young when we signed him and it took years for him to do that and Szmodics whilst he had never scored anywhere near as much as he did had seasons where he had scored quite a lot albeit in League 1.

Obviously you dont know how many goals any signings might score, one who rarely has in the past might score loads and one who had scored lots might be rubbish in a Rovers shirt.

We need players to hit the ground running. Like you said, it could be 4/5 weeks before he gets up to speed. I imagine he'll be on the bench for the first few games.

Unlikely, but it would be very typical Venkys to release some funds on the last day of the window, catching everybody out and the first time in years, the inexperienced Gestede spaffs it up the wall on total dross.

I'm not naive with our budgets it will highly likely be low, but you can forward plan and bring in the best you can with the little you have got. You can force the hand of a club desperate for finances.

I get why we go late into deadline day because some decent quality players become available last minute when they are surplus at their club due to imcomings. BUT that doesn't mean you can not have some nearly pre agreed deals for the window opening when your squad was struggling and needing help by Jan 1st before the injuries really started.

If money is that tight and we can't get an experienced striker in even on loan  then I hope we will push for Dann.

It be a gamble but there has been examples of young strikers from the prem going on loan in January and having an immediate impact Cannon and Archer with Preston and Brewster when he went to Swansea and Dann does look a talent

I was being facetious with my comment, which strangely some people took literally. There will, as you say, be a budget, but a very shitty budget. The problem with that is we’re left fighting for the dregs that either nobody else wants , or players that were destined for elsewhere and had their deal fall thru at the last minute. 
 

I’d imagine the recruitment team have a very difficult job under those circumstances.
