No way was Brereton a Mowbray signing imo ,he might have convinced venkys to spend a bit but I don't believe it was Mowbray that chose and pushed for Brereton to come in.Im going off how Mowbray spoke of his signing at the time and how he used Brereton in his first couple of seasons

I can tell you 100% that it was Uncle Tony who persuaded them to have a ‘special player’ budget - so if he, or the recruitment team identified a player of considerable talent , that could potentially grow in value and make them a few quid, they could buy them.

So, BB may not have been Mowbrays choice, but he was brought in on his initiative and his watch. In a time where he (the manager) had direct access to the Venkys.

Didnt work out re making them any money, mind! 🙈🤣

The rumours coming out were that Brereton was absolutely not a Mowbray signing.

Arma probably was though.

I know I'm labeled as a Eustace hater, but he deserves more criticism than he gets for being complicit in all of this.

I'll say it, once again, he knew what he was getting himself into and took a job just after the last manager had lost patience and downed tools. Not only did he take the job under those circumstances, but he's being a very good boy when it comes to sticking to the right messaging in public.

There's been the odd hint of slight frustration, but, as the window has dragged on, most of that has disappeared and we now have a manager spouting the club messaging about injuries, difficulty in replacing players, and the challenges of a Championship season.

I have absolutely no respect for any Rovers member of staff in a public-facing position at this point.

This isn’t just a money issue, it’s a functionality issue too when it’s left in the hands of Waggott. We’ve seen it before, contracts get neglected etc.

Smaller clubs that have generated less revenue are operating better than Rovers.

Absolutely not what the players or manager deserve.

We will never be successful with Suhail, Waggott and Venky’s. They would all have to go.

So do we want JE to do a JDT and then get cut off from press conferences then leading to his exit?

JE did know what he was coming in to

but he’s handling it very well and any criticism of him regarding all this is just an agenda or dislike of him

Well yeah, because it looks like you're being a contrarian for shits and giggles, tbh.

I agree, Mowbray seemed as shocked as anyone

I suppose it will be easier come end of season with so many out of contract for them to wind us up?

Come come now! These Punatics don't do strategy. Hand to mouth, bottom feeding scrap merchants this lot,, but sadly not in the tradition of those who built the club in the glory days many of us all too fondly recall.

Only Dolan, Sigurdsson & Hilton from the 1st team squad out of contract this summer.

2026 is the problem, with Brittain, Hyam, Travis & Tronstad all up. Plus Hedges.

By the time swag pulls his finger out the damage has already been done. Great run of games to climb ahead of the chasing pack and where limited to rushing Trav back from injury. Results went for us these past two weeks and Swag mulling over spending someone else’s money
