In fairness, we made six permanent signings for the first team this summer, plus three loans. January is basically the MLS' summer window. Unfortunately we appointed a great coach but an absolute duck egg in Broughton who wasted most of the limited money we had and who was instrumental in a couple of monumental deadline day fuck ups. Had we appointed an experienced DOF with a good eye for a player alongside JDT it might just have got us over the line despite the relative lack of backing. As we seem to have bizarrely changed tack completely and swiftly abandoned the model we might never know if it will work here or not. Agree to disagree.
Popular Post MB Rover
Being fair to Gregg, when he was actually allowed to spend money he did it pretty well. That first window he signed Szmodics Brittain and Hyam for cash. All been great servants. It’s when the ‘project changed’ and we relied on loans and frees that he really (rightly) struggled, Tronstad aside. Exiled_Rover
33 minutes ago, KentExile said: We didn't, Its the same model, just Broughtons job is/was now done by a combination of Gestede, Adam Owen, Stuart Jones (whilst he is still here) & John Park (when he was here) all with non director job titles, which means their combined pay is likely less than Broughtons Cost cutting exercise I bet, combined, they add up to more salary - but it's a much more confusing set up. He was written off to early here...needed time to adapt. Not sure what the standard of 2. Bundesliga is compared to the Championship (probably lower?) but I'm glad he's doing well for his club. I'm not sure it would've worked out for him at Rovers even if he'd had stayed for longer.

None of his team mates thought he had talent. I remember Garry Flitcroft being asked who the worst player he has ever played with was. He wouldn't give a name but he did say it you'd had a shocker in training they used to call it "having a Grabbi"

I might be wrong but I seem to think that Ipswich away was an early game and again he looked to have real ability but it just didn’t go for him. Over the years, I’ve have met a number of Genoa fans who would tell you what a good player he was.

Popular Post TheRevAshton
It’s mad how casually the days just slip by with nothing happening… We needed players 4 weeks ago, and are currently dropping points like they’re going out of fashion. Other teams around us continue to strengthen, wrapping up quality deals in absolutely no time regardless of where the player is currently playing. We’re the laughing stock of the football league, being comfortably outspent by teams 2/3 divisions below us who could only dream of bringing in the kind of revenue we have over the last couple of years. Absolutely shambolic. The most successful town Club in the world, one of the few premier league winners, the pride of lancashire - systematically dismantled by disinterested, tight-fisted, chicken chokers over in India. Scum.

Lambert clearly agreed to the Rhodes sale and made plans of what he was going to do with the money. Then they sold him and pocketed the dosh and left him with loans like Simeon Jackson and signing Elliott Ward. Then 8 years later, similar situation this time the sale of Adam Wharton, JDT was clearly expecting or hoping to get some of that windfall to reinvest and got nowt. Leopards don't change their spots, they're as untrustworthy and vile as they were the day they arrived. All this 'bad advice, naïve' stuff a work of fiction created in people's heads to try and convince themselves that the evil has gone and all is fine, when it hasn't and won't be fine until they are gone. Again a story i've been saying ....this whole thing is a washing expedition ...output SBI (Bank) monies and Sales return belongs to Vs. No other reason can explain this 15 years ... naivety...innocent...don't know about football ...don't care ... no reasoning fits ... as SHERLOCK said "IF ALL REASONING IS EXAUSTED , HOW IMPROPERBLE THE REMAINING REASON IS..IT HAS TO BE THE TRUTH" not 1 journalist has asked , Is all the monies spent on rovers since the sale, from Facilities of SBI or Vs own monies ?
Emerald Isle Rover
We will get two in Kargbo and a loan thatl b it do not be expecting 3/4/5 as we simply don’t have the ambition - wages structure - squad space to get what we actually need Very disheartening all this

CMs are often frustrated CFs. If he's playing RB at his age he's found his position.
