Do you think theyve said, "dont worry if you need more money, have as much as you want?"

Expand

Do you think they know enough about Kargbo or are interested enough  to go "Yeah go ahead, sign him if you want but only go up to £1m E , to be honest we don't think he's worth £1.2m"

(Bearing in mind that according to most they don't even know when we're playing)

Can also play up front.  He's the kind of player that can make something out of nothing.  Something we don't have

Wouldn't mind a player who could make something out of anything in reality....

I presume their only involvement is to say you can spend whatever small amount we are allowed, and thats it.

January will always be like this

I think the management plan for the club is pretty 'consistent' now in respect of expenditure

In the spring timeish our "board" will be given a budget for year spends. We will effectively spend this in the summer months. From thereon we are an accounting exercise - did our monthly spends equate cost to value; what is forecast to spend against what we have left to spend

Any money we make on transfers will mean less capital investment by Venkys LLTD in the following summer

The idea that we can reinvest x amount of transfer fees is barmy. It has never been that way. This is why all talk of "we should have sold x, y and z" is pointless. There's no point selling players. We may as well hold them for as long as we can and then go again if it doesn't result in promotion

Selling a player does absolutely nothing to benefit the Rovers. That's been made perfectly clear

I'm half wondering whether there might be more to the Court situation in India than meets the eye. Something that we possibly don't know or aren't being told about.

It's clear that this is the worst it has been for us in a transfer window, where we can barely scrape frees and loans together and we seem to be desperately shifting a few out. Our windows have generally been disappointing under them, but this is really desperate stuff.

'Desperate' is the word that best describes this window. Question is, why? These are supposed billionaires that are apparently free to send funds across 'without impediment'.

Didn't the car salesman recently have to provide a full breakdown of where the funds were going to be used for the Indian Court, before permission was given for that money to be sent here?

Is it possible the Court in India has discovered something else during its investigation and has now decided they can't send anything here at all?

Hence the desperate actions on the ground here as they try to make room for one or two cheap incomings, using club raised funds?

Not for one second am I giving them the Court matter as an excuse. Just a theory as to why this window could be looking at being the worst ever under this lot.

I know Poku is injured until the end of Feb but he would be someone that I would like us to sign as a long term right wing option.  Biggest problem we have at the moment is the fact we have 10 ish players going on a free/back to their clubs at the end of the season. No long term planning, no contract renewals, no sign of any players coming in. I am bewildered at how this club operates.

You could well be onto something there, as very little else, makes sense.

So I'll compromise. Do you think if we had some new, quality players in the last three games (halfway through the window) we would have stood a better chance of getting more points.

I don't buy this 'slow window' excuse. It's perpetuated by clubs like ours to cover up for inadequacies. We have had four months to identify targets and now almost four weeks into the actual window.

Once again we have been let down by the hierarchy.

If we had signed Thomas-Asante when we put a bid for him then that would quality signing for me. That reported was around middle of the month.

January window is always slow..every year the same.

You can all the time before the window to identify targets but unless it a player a club wanted rid or you can afford to.pay the asking price(which tbf we should be able to do so with Szmodics money) then you will make quality signings towards the end of the window.

How have we been beaten to Louie Barry by Hull City...

Was he even a target to be fair?

He might have been our target on here but was he on Rovers transfer shortlist?

Because they made a poor managerial appointment in Walter whereas we got lucky with Eustace. Also they had a huge turnover in players last summer.

So maybe the owner should have stuck with Liam Rosenior instead? and they reinvest money they recieved into good players like Liam Millar

According to this £44.1m has been spent by Championship clubs so far this window. I'd bet that we have actually reduced our wage bill with Forshaw and Sanderson in against McFadzean and Baker out.

Duru and Markanday out too, with Gamble poised to follow.

They not allowed to send SBI funds ... if they want to they supposed to put collateral their own funds at the court

They're only supposed to provide a personal guarantee.

Which seemingly they're not willing to do otherwise they would have discontinued the proceedings.

This guy is usually spot on for Rovers news, and I believe (sorry if wrong) that the FourStar account underneath is Unleaded from on here.

That same person also tweets that Rovers want something like £5m for Pears if he was to leave this month. While that may be true, I'd be gobsmacked if Boro stumped up that much for him.

He is FAR from perfect but I wouldn't be too hasty to get rid of Pears at this moment in time. Who exactly comes in to replace him eh? Toth and then a new and more importantly CHEAP back up keeper most likely.

Elsewhere its good to see news of much needed incomings is coming thick and fast 🤪
