Before assessing any decision remember to discard the footballing benefit. It's all about maintaining easy street. With the least possible oversight (don't get relegated) maintain the status quo - pass go and collect ~£300k salary. If possible, maintain connections in the game by signing friends/family.

So the two crucial positions you need to win games in its basic form. Someone to score goals, we don't have, and someone to stop them, looking to sell. Brilliant all we need now is owners not to care..... wait Edited January 27 by ...

Genuine question: aside from him taking his salary home, what does he gain from sabotaging us every window? Im only thinking out loud really. I do think he’s putting the stop every window but don’t understand the motive.

For whatever reason the owners seem happy for us to plod along in Championship purgatory forever, as they've never shown any ambition to push on despite numerous seasons where we've been doing well at the half way stage. Eustace has gotten the team to overperform until recently, meaning yet another season where the owners feel no need to put in anything extra. If there was a genuine ambition to get promoted we would have seen it by now. There's been plenty of opportunities and we never look to push on.

I believe (someone correct me) he's got a consulting background. Is there another gig within Venkys or consulting as a whole that offers the work life balance we do? Keep this steady and it's a miniscule % of their investment. Do this well and get caught out? Replaced and off to a chicken farm or back into travel lodges consulting. Intervene as and when it's starting to look south.

If they achieve that objective, they get a very good annual performance review which may have financial rewards attached. If Suhail has said “we don’t need anything..” & V’s said “sounds great” then that’s it 🤷♂️
CambridgeRover
Is it now weird that even the cheaper deal in Kargbo hasn't got over the line?

Popular Post roversfan99
I wouldnt worry. We have Dolan who hasnt scored in the last 18, Hedges who hasnt scored in the last 26 and Cantwell who has scored just a penalty all season to provide the goals.

roversfan99
Coventry are signing Matt Grimes, he would have been ideal in midfield.

They were looking for Euro 1.2 million, and our best offer was 1 mill, I believe. If it is going to happen, it will depend upon who blinks first in the last hour before deadline. He's the lad that takes the ball off the CB's toes and pings it five yards sideways, right? Better than Forshaw (at his age), but not someone I'm sad we missed out on.

neophox
Think young Nic Michalski is very highly rated so it could be that it's time for pastures new for Pears. Toth is an Hungarian international and don't want to sit on the bench week in and week out.
neophox
The thing was Toth was coming in as nr 1 but Pears has done well but against Bristol C you could see him back to his normal self....last season everyone here wanted him rid.

Toth is an Hungarian international and don't want to sit on the bench week in and week out. The only relevance is that losing Pears potentially damages team morale and togetherness - it's not like the manager would see any of the money generated trickle back to bring in new players after all, is it? We have seen recently, when things have gone well on the pitch, just how well this group of players has gelled together under JE, and how much each hard earned victory has meant to them. They also show their appreciation to the travelling support and home fans alike, which is definitely an improvement on previous years. So, keeping the core of a functioning squad together is an important outcome from where I see things. It doesn't matter if a sale brings in £2.50 or £10 million, the arseholes won't spend any of it on replenishing the current squad. Venkys OUT! Waggott OUT! Suhail Pasha OUT! Rudy G - GROW A PAIR!
