Devon Rover Posted January 29 Posted January 29 3 minutes ago, MarkBRFC said: Any serious club would. In the next 18 months we have Hilton, Brittain, Hyam, Batth, Weimann, Travis, Tronstad, Forshaw Hedges, Dolan & Siggurdson all leaving for nothing. Of course some of those aren't worth extending, but it's still squad members we will need to place Plus Beck, Sanderson and ACD's loans all expring this summer. All loans is doing now is kicking the can down the road, we need 3 really good, cash signings that can be given a platform to play, and if we don't make the play offs sell on again in a year or two and repeat the process. I remember Desai's (only?) interview after buying the club when she said they'd focus on "leasing" players. Could we be seeing the actual playing out of their long game in minimising costs by running down contracts and building a team of low wage academy players and max numbers of loanees? Obviously would be even more of a car crash than we are used to being caught up in. But there doesn't appear to be any other 'plan' in place and the dereliction of duty in non-renewal of contracts can only be about further 'dumbing down' the squad and wage bill? 1 Quote
roversfan99 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 We are in peak season now of randomers on twitter seeking attention by chucking out random names, and then they are just being chucked on here without who they came from. There is no chance we are getting Adebajo. 3 Quote
Ghost7 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Adebayo makes sense, it's convenient for Waggott to go after a deal that depends on something else. Easy one to get out of when it doesn't go through, which it won't, even if it was serious, which it isn't. 2 Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted January 29 Posted January 29 23 minutes ago, RevidgeBlue said: I suggested Adebayo a fee weeks ago as the calibre of player we should be aiming at if we wished to make a statement. As his estimated market value is £8m - £9m can't see there being too much in that link. The lad that's been on loan to Plymouth sound more promising than Kargbo imo if fit , but do we not really need some permanent signings in? If you got both Cissoko and Kargbo I'll stop complaining about a lack of pace out wide. 1 Quote
wilsdenrover Posted January 29 Posted January 29 36 minutes ago, AVE1875 said: I was interesting in figuring out our registered squad list following on from a few posts on here and wondering how many spaces we have left, ignoring all of those under 21 (apart from ACD as he is in on loan) we currently have 23 players registered? So on the basis of this, we have 2 registration places available unless in the absence of doing this on my lunch break (like an absolute sad act) I have missed something? So, if we are to sign more than 2; we need someone to leave / go out on loan from the above list OR they need to be U21. Most of the players we have been linked to have been over 21 other than Jayden Danns, but can't see him being a permanent addition... Wouldn't break the bank to be fair. Loan and E1.2m. Edit: Them two and Adebayo on loan would be quite decent - albeit four weeks too late. I predict we'll end up with one of the two wide men and no striker. Edited January 29 by RevidgeBlue Quote

BankEnd Rover Posted January 29 Posted January 29 (edited) Tommy Doyle from wolves I've just seen. Edited January 29 by BankEnd Rover Quote

Of all the names we’ve been “ linked with “ I think he has the most potential. Let's hope you are wrong. Losing two Tony Fields in one lifetime is too much. 2 Quote

Ricceh Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Honestly I feel like it's got to the stage where people are just trying to force the issue with rumours, unless of course clubs have released their loan availability lists, and we're just enquiring. 1 Quote

Ossydave Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Yeah they need Doyle more than ever at the min. I think his agent was pushing for a move a few weeks back but it's unlikely now Quote

Popular Post J*B Posted January 29 Popular Post Posted January 29 Pandemonium in full effect here. It’s as if you lot haven’t lived through the same years I have. Regardless of transfers, dropping 9 points in the last 3 games will be the difference between a successful and failure of a season. All because whatever we do, we left it too late. 22 Quote

JamieUK Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Calling it now - the club agrees a deal to bring in a 3rd player - a big money signing - but falls through at 23:01 as they conveniently 'forget' we don't have a squad place free. The happy clappers give Venkys/the board credit for trying their best. 3 Quote

Wouldn't put it past them, but that excuse wouldn't really wash, as they don't have to register the squad fully for the second half of the season until 24 hours after deadline day. 1 Quote
