"Blackburn Rovers are making a shock loan inquiry for Egyptian striker Mustafa Mohamed at Nantes.

Rovers are looking for a forward and have turned to Mohamed who is out of favour with the French side.

Mo Salah’s international sidekick Mohamed is available for a move to England on loan.

Mohamed is playing on and off for struggling French side Nantes and is being offered around to alert clubs at the bottom of the Premier League and in the Championship."

If this is the guy I think it is, then unless something has changed money wise, he'll be too rich for us.

I think he scored in every one of Egypt's group games at the AFCON last winter.

Would be a bit of a coup

He would be a good signing. Certainly a step up from what we have.

Not convinced about Kargbo but he has pace at least. I'm confident in saying he's better than Dolan and Hedges even though I've never seen him play.

makes you wonder if there's a knock on affect with this kagbo deal, in terms of what it will cost and what we will have left to play with. I imagine hes someone's top of whoever's list. Reading the LTs comments seems like this will role all the way on until the last day of the window in terms of still needing to fly over, have a medical and get a visa accepted. Wouldn't be surprised to see us panic sign on the last day with whatever we can afford with whatever's left over to sign in the remaining budget after this deal which will be the inevitable last few hours of the window.

When Eustace says were close, its because there's only 3 or 4 days left of the window so were just days away from some form of signing.

Ah this one is absolutely perfect for Steve. Ambitious attempt, we can even make it an imaginary loan-to-buy right at the death for the perfect excuse. Strap in! "We did everything we could".

Just seen that Monza are after that Mostafa Mohamed, there'll likely be others who join the race too.

I'm drawing a line under this one immediately, unfortunately.

Think this is a name to get the fans excited when actually it will NEVER get sorted..."we tried our best"

Our play off chances IMO are over, especially when we loose tomorrow...It's all too late!

It's a Nixon story........ file it under "kite flying", the ancient practice whereby sports journalist hackers churn out speculative stories in the hope that 1 in a 100 proves to be correct

He looks better than Telalovic. Stronger than Dolan and a big upgrade on Hedges, obviously with the caveat that he can do it in the championship. Still doesn't score enough to rest our hopes on.

why does he remind me of jason roberts....

I’ve been surprised with how many of the locals out here in Thailand know of Blackburn Rovers, our long history of success, and our recent demise. Unanimous in wanting us back in the top flight… although may just be try to milk tips out of me 😅

There was a dingle sat at breakfast in one of our hotels and I couldn’t even bring myself to give him some grief. Need these leeches out of the club for good - whether going up or down to L2 is the catalyst - don’t mind. Just want some ambition and respect from the owners of the club.

BRFC used to be top flyers in ASIA along with LIVERPOOL,MAN U,MAN C,SPURs, ARSENAL ...due to KENNY DAGLISH and alan shearer ...94/95 and before 2000 era ...the underdogs biting above ...

Whether this Mohamed is a genuine link or total rubbish, it does feel like Gestede is starting to dominate in terms of recruitment and it doesnt feel like Eustace's wishes will be granted. Interesting to see what @chaddyrovers makes of it.

His goal record is nothing to write home about but its obviously at a higher level  but coupled with being a potential loan and any adaptation period, him and Kargbo wouldnt seem to me to be an exciting window. People on twitter seem to be buzzing about them but I think its having to wait coupled with the exotic nature of these players is the reason.

Also he has had a lot of controversy when refusing to play during games dedicated to inclusivity around LGBTQ issues so he could upset a few if there is truth in the rumour.

Sounds like Kargbo is done and dusted. Just have 4 and a half days to sort the visa out. Hopefully should be long enough.

Gestede looks like he has full control indeed Eustace comments about Kargbo pretty much spell it out

However I disagree re Mohamed - it would be a fantastic signing for us (that’s why it won’t happen and likely Nixon just throwing something out there for clicks) he’s a player above championship level and better than all striker we have been linked with

again a non starter I believe but in terms of his ability etc he would be bloody unreal signing

Im guessing like me you are just basing it on his track record, and to be fair he has played at a good standard for quite a few years so I do get it from that perspective.

Its more that it would be a loan deal for a player playing abroad. It will be difficult for him to settle in straight away and have an impact in the 15 games post QPR that he would be available for, assuming it went to the wire. Its not good enough to only sign Kargbo beyond this season considering.

There are also the issues aside from football that it would bring up.

As you say, probably wont happen anyway. And if there is any truth in it, not sure why we are making enquiries so late in the window.

If we sign Kargbo and a LB, then we can play Beck as a winger as well. A striker will be a loan as we're too skint to buy anyone.

Beck simply isn't a winger. I don't understand why people keep trying to wish this into existence.
