Lancaster Rover Posted February 3 Posted February 3 13 minutes ago, Eddie said: Over 180 minutes against a good team we would rely on the opposition misfiring. You look at our results so far against the current top 6 and we've not done super well. We've scored 5 and conceded 7, but we've also been on the back foot. I don't think xG is perfect, but we've created an average xG of .87, whereas our opposition have created an average x6 of 1.48 (our season average is .97, so, unsurprisingly, the good teams are creating a lot more chances against us). We've actually been fairly efficient, as an xG of 6.07 has resulted in 5 goals (although that includes the Weimann strike against Burnley). Our well-drilled defensive unit has benefit from some slight profligacy, with an xG of 10.37 only resulting in 7 goals. The sample size is so small that you can't read that much into it, but it's still an indicator that we would be up against it if we had to play 3 matches against top 6 sides. Our reliance on defensive solidity is why we've lost so many games 1-0, at this level you're going to get mistakes when playing such a high risk strategy of defence being your main form of attack. Our aim at times is to not lose, with winning being a happy by product, problem is when you do go behind a la Dingles home game it's then very hard for us to win. I think it also leaves us open to mental fatigue and at some point this season we'll get an absolute hiding from someone if say 2 of 4 defenders are below par 2 Quote

Popular Post USABlue Posted February 3 Popular Post Posted February 3 (edited) I just can't believe these owners have had the Premier League in their sights the last THREE seasons and done NOTHING to try to get us there. A long way since Souey described us as a PROPER Football Club. What an embarrassing joke these chicken farmers are. Just go Venkies go. Sod off. Edited February 3 by USABlue 20 Quote
Norbert Rassragr Posted February 3 Posted February 3 We'll sign some 22 year old forward on loan from a Premier League team. Someone who is a similar standard to Vale. 1 Quote

smiller14 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 In summary according to Jackson. We tried (probably not too hard) for Danns. Didn't try for the other 2 lads linked. I'm hoping it's just a case of the LET being miles away from knowing anything and we have a surprise lined up, although I know hope and Rovers on transfer deadline day is a match made in hell. 1 Quote
Backroom Mike E Posted February 3 Backroom Posted February 3 As far as ‘tallest dwarf’ or ‘best of a sewer’ signings go, I think Rhodes could actually be useful in a team also containing pace down at least one wing, the industry of Gueye and Ohashi, and an engine of Travis and Tronstad. If he can put the ball in the net from 6 yards a few times… My God, what have Venkys done to my expectations? 3 Quote

The sooner they pack up & leave the better 1 Quote

Great player in his day but he turns 35 this week and has scored 0 goals in over 20 games this season in League 1 https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jordan-rhodes/profil/spieler/48950 Edited February 3 by KentExile Quote

To help you, I'll give you my mark based upon what's happened so far in 30 odd days with just 12 hours or so to go. And my mark is 1 out of 10. IMO, a p1ss poor performance and I would put money on even you doing better. I thnink you're being overly generous with that mark. Quote

DeeCee Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Not to worry, we can still sign out of contract players after the window closes. 🥴 1 Quote

AVE1875 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 So the only link today which seems like it's going to happen is this LB from Braga... I used to love Deadline Day 😮💨 Quote
levi Posted February 3 Posted February 3 I'm not in work today so i thought 'nice one i'll watch sky sports news' Turned it off as it's depressing me even more than this thread 1 Quote
Moptop1 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Once again, our amazing Owners are fucking us over. Who would have thought such a thing could happen?🙄 3 Quote
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Going exactly as we all predicted (save one or 2). The club hierarchy are comedy gold. Fuckin useless.. 4 Quote

RoverDom Posted February 3 Posted February 3 With all this talk of Rhodes, how long till we're debating the merits of signing a 36 year former Benin international striker? 3 Quote
Ruaney Posted February 3 Posted February 3 2 minutes ago, ... said: Literally no leads anywhere. 😐😢🙈 This needs to pick up quickly otherwise I’ll be genuinely convinced nobody else is coming. They can’t, can they? Headed towards the worst window in years and we’re 5th. I often wonder what the point of them owning us is. Can’t be financial. 2 Quote
TheRevAshton Posted February 3 Posted February 3 With O'brien off the cards I wouldn't mind seeing the Club look at a deal for Massimo Luongo - hardly played this season but was pivotal in Ipswich's promotion last season. *sigh* But they probably won't even bother getting a CM now, will they? "Ooo we tried our little best for O'brien, then it got too late..." Quote
Ricceh Posted February 3 Posted February 3 They have no interest in a CM, they will just tell JE to keep their head above water waiting for Tronstad to come back and pray for no more injuries. Mid table is the aim. 2 Quote
Penwortham Blue Posted February 3 Posted February 3 You think that they couldn’t possibly fail again, so badly but as it stands, it really does look like nothing happening and we are now into the last 12 hours. That means if it is a foreign based player, they would be in the country by now and so looks like we all going to be left disappointed again, and very angry ! Quote
Popular Post LDRover Posted February 3 Popular Post Posted February 3 There are reasons why Burnley fans fly Indian flags at their games. If any apologist ever tries to hold them in anything but the lowest esteem just remind them of this. 15 Quote
