I'd also like another centre mid personally as the depths poor if Trav or Tronstad get injured. Possibly another right back too if he doesn't think Duru is ready. If we get 2 I'll be surprised. They'll loan Duru out in January, he's not developing in the U21s. Baker is a very good understudy to Travis ad Tronstad. So was JRC pre his loss of form. Personally I'd be recalling O'Riordan and putting all my eggs in the RW basket. They won't allow us to bring in multiple players - well not permanently, which is what we need. Loans just put a plaster over a gaping wound. 2 Quote

We need a striker too, and let Leonard out on loan with Gueye third choice until we flog him back to Belgium in the summer. A winger with pace still needed, as you point out. Duru needs a loan as well, I agree. Quote
TheRevAshton Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 That Duk from Aberdeen will be a free agent at the end of the season, a player we've had interest in previously, apparently. He's not having the best season this time around, but has had a decent record in previous campaigns. He's still young, quick and won't be on a big wage - would make for a good option IMO. Could probably be picked up on the cheap in January. Quote

Mowbray's brother Darren is no longer at Aberdeen though so hopefully that stops us buying any more of their dross. Quote
Angry_Pirate Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Kwarme Poku, James Hill and Louie Barry. Yes to any, yes to all. A proper #9 is or course the priority, and another player to slot in front of McFadzean on the depth chart. I'm sure Southampton are already planning for life back in the Championship, seems nailed on that Brereton-Diaz will get a head start on them by a window, wonder if there would be any mutual interest? Pears, Brittain, Batth, Hyam, Beck, Travis, Tronstad, Poku, Cantwell, Brereton-Diaz *New* Squad: Toth, Hill, JRC, Pickering, Carter (start when fit), Baker, Dolan, Hedges, Ohashi, Barry, Weimann. That's playoff level. Absolutely none of it happening. 2 Quote

On Brereton-Diaz though - If he's going on loan to the Championship, he'll end up at Stoke if he has a say in it. Recall him saying that'd be his dream move when he played for us, despite him having interest from the PL & La Liga. Edited December 5, 2024 by TheRevAshton Quote

BRFC4EVA Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Wasn't sure where to put this, but Rangers announced to their shareholders that their summer sales totalled $810k. This included Cantwell and 4 others, so maybe his fee was even less than we thought? 3 Quote

wilsdenrover Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Thought here was a good a place as any for this. The club currently has potential liabilities to other clubs/third parties of £5.9 million contingent on player appearances/team performance. £3.2 million of this is based on us getting promoted to the PL - what do we think the other £2.7 million relates to? Payments to the previous clubs of our current players based on performance. As you state, promotion bonuses would be the main part, but also also things such as players scoring set amounts of goals, making a certain amount of appearances/starts etc Edited December 6, 2024 by KentExile 1 Quote
joey_big_nose Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Squad looks in pretty good shape to me. The main issues are striker and centre back cover. More pace out wide would be nice too. But in quite a good place. 1 1 Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 It's crazy that we're now in December and we still have no idea what we have in that Brighton loanee. Quote

How bad would it be then if you were first choice and I was backup ? Would that still count as depth? Quote
