Underwhelming. The only positive is our signings can only get better? The benchmark is so low and im not even sure if we are interested in a promotion push or just signing players enough to stay in this league.

Where's the ambition?

What would you have done with regards to cover at centre half though realistically? Because that all it should be really, cover.

Up front is a completely different kettle of fish, if we can loan in anyone remotely decent they should walk into the team!

Venkys are absolute charlatans, but separate to that, the Indian court system is a total joke (including if Venkys have paid someone to put us that low and delay the case again, as that's of course corruption).

It isn't US - it's THEM 😉

Just saying.

And, as they used to say, back in the days when we were a third division outfit with no money, "Blackburn Rovers begin their annual battle against promotion..."

Still, it is very quiet. Nothing to see, hear or react to.... tick, tock..

The only hope with this one is that Eustace knows how to get a tune out of him, otherwise the calibre of player we're looking at so far is worrying at best.

My worry is that with our current transfer philosophy it seems we're always one or two injuries from being League One fodder.

That said, would I take Forshaw and Sanderson as backup if it means we actually get some real talent up top because Gueye is one of the worst footballers I've ever seen and we will be nowhere near the top if we have to rely on him more than Yuki for the next few months.

Sanderson played all last season in a team that went down.

Nothing we can do about it now, if he gets time on the pitch he'll have the full support of those in attendance as always.

To be fair, most of our team is still made up of players who were arguably worse than Brum last year but were bailed out by Szmodics.

We bought Szmodics after he played for a team that got relegated the previous season too,

and Brittain

The fact that they were relegated is not always the full story.  Birmingham sacked Eustace and employed Rooney which probably had much more to do with their relegation

Can people stop saying forshaw is ‘back up’ for travis. He’s injured.

Forshaw will be back up for Tronstad rather than Travis.

Rovers may think that JRC can cover for Travis for the next couple of weeks.  He did play there alongside Tronstad in the 2nd half of last season

Edit - I am still not a fan of signing Forshaw

If Foreshaw happens It won't inspire me either however unless your owners are willing to spend and compensate a lack of starts with money by giving better wages hard to see a midfielder who is intent on gametime coming in which also rules out loans for better prospects.

It was always going to be hard to find better than Baker, Travis will probably miss another 4 games and then when he gets back In Forshaw or whoever else was signed will be a bench player.

We also haven't signed Forshaw yet ,its come from Nixon who had no idea of Sanderson and was saying Hanley was still a target earlier yesterday

I can name a few PL young, good strikers/wingers who are hungry, eager to develop and need game time:

Marc Guiu, 19 (Chelsea, striker, represents Spain U19)

Will Lankshear, 19 (Tottenham, striker, represents England U20)

Mikey Moore, 17 (Tottenham, winger, represents England U19)

William Osula, 21 (Newcastle, striker, represents Denmark U21)

Samuel Amo-Ameyaw, 18 (Southampton, winger, represents England U19)

Luis Guilherme, 18 (West Ham, winger, represents Brazil U20)

Yes, you take a gamble on young players who might need some time to settle/adjust to tactics but I would rather do that than settle for mediocrity.

I don't those being the difference maker in getting top 6 or not..we need proven goalscorer/striker for me.

Do we have the time to allow a young players to settle, why not just Play Harry Leonard instead and develop him?.

I honestly thought Baker was pretty ineffective. Could help shield the back four sure, but offered nothing going forwards.

Downside for us is we're so thin that you don't really want the alternatives playing.

You aren't ever going to have like for like for someone like Travis. Forshaw is back up player and how do you personally he not up to standard? Based on what?

Eustace knows him, signed him and made him captain at Birmingham. He knows him well, maybe we should trust Eustace's judgement here..

No. They are fit and been training haven't they? Experience at this level

What is clear is youll manage to justify any deal we make this window.

Sanderson is underwhelming but understandable. He will be 4th choice but initially third, hes not over the hill and he can be a decent enough defender at this level.

Forshaw though, we need someone who can play for the next month. Not a hasbeen who Plymouth fans cant believe we are taking. Your argument for him could justify anyone, we arent going to get someone as good as Travis. Maybe not, but Baker at least was good cover.

Do you think it's easy with our owners and budget to find a midfielder who is happy to sit on the bench after 3 or 4 games cus that's what they would be doing ?Travis will be back soon

If foreshaw or whoever else is signed for that position cab show more than Buckley then we are stronger

Sanderson for me is better than Mcfadz makes us stronger

The money if any needs To go on first choice attacking players,  we should have more money to spend on the squad but the owners will not spend it
