Yeah only one fan said our recruitment team must be on smack. Another suggested spice!

And everyone else was in full agreement. Not one dissenting voice.

Incorrect as the below proves. But keep on with the negativity, you’re clearly an expert at it 😉

They’re Rovers now so let’s get behind them and pray for better signings for the forward line where we need them 🤞🏻

A fantastic effort at optimism to be fair, however if I see that we are starting Forshaw tronstad and JRC as a midfield 3 I will turn back around from any fixture I’m on my way to. That’s a disgusting midfield 🤣

My alternative was a Garret pivot and I think that scares me more

He hasn’t played for Middlesbrough for 6 years 🤣🤣 may as well sign maradona, I’m sure Napoli fans was lyrical about his time there!

I’ve just never seen us sign a player where his previous clubs have such a negative opinion about him on purely footballing terms. And at his age he’s clearly deteriorating. I mean, I was disappointed with Batth and he is my player of the year. It’ll judge him as he plays and hold my hand up. But it doesn’t half reek of desperation.

The likes of Sanderson, Sorba Thomas, Giles etc.. I could see logic behind.

It reeks of an absolutely shite budget tbf.

I’m holding on to the fact that Eustace wants him and he’s been a good judge so far with experienced signings. Forshaw was a good player in his day, I’m presuming he can still do a bit. Also our CMs don’t move very far so if he hangs around the centre of the pitch keeping hold of the ball and starting attacks then he could be a shrewd addition.

Most of them are 20 minute cameos. He’s played 90 minutes three times (0-4, 0-3, 0-4)

Yippee!

The rationale behind this move from the Club's point of view seems to be cheapness. If Nixon is correct that we were only contributing 6k p.w. towards Baker's wage then we've probably been looking for a deal within the same budget rather than concentrating on quality.

I get the thinking, but it’s not improved by much though! I’ve made my feeling on John Buckley and Garrett known, and maybe both turn out to be great signings. That’s not the point. We’ve sold a generational talent for half his market price, our top scorer, countless other players, a training ground, Armstrong, sell ons from previous cheap sales, and were signing loans and freebies from teams who don’t want them and don’t think they’re good enough, one of which is in league one.

The club leak all these rhetorics of how happy and rosy Eustace is with all these signings, like he’s going to come out and say otherwise? And people fall for it every time.

All over social media it’s ’well Forshaw doesn’t start when Travis is fit’. Well Travis isn’t fit. ‘He’s only third choice’, is he good enough to be third choice? Strikes me as a 5th choice standard. Would he be third choice at ANY of our play off chasing rivals? Would he fuck.

It’s rinse and repeat every single window, get close to the playoffs, have a shocking January and run of results and end January 10th place. ‘Saving our budget’ for strikers and wide men is the message coming from the plants in the media like Jackson.

We know how this script ends, ‘we did all we could!’

Are we chasing playoffs? For real - are the owners and management genuinely looking to aid a promotion push?

IMO: no. Why: I have absolutely no idea but as you say - any of our rivals would be looking at more ambitious targets and using every possible means to help the cause (not least after the sales we have made)

The amount of time between Forshaw at Boro and Rovers signing him now, is the same amount of time between Robbie Fowlers first spell at Liverpool and him signing for Rovers.  We aren’t getting that player.

Anyway, the praise for Forshaw as a player on that Plymouth forum is few and far between. I’ll just leave you all with this one,

Quote

He was dreadful.

I’ve lost count of the number of goals we conceded coming from him being dispossessed in midfield or losing his runner as he was unable to turn his zimmerframe quickly enough.

First Ennis and now Foreshaw.

What are Blackburn thinking?

Do we have some dirt on them that they don’t want exposed?

My unhappiness with Forshaw is strictly conditional.

Out of context, poor signing. However if it is strictly a stop gap to cover either of 2 combative midfielders ahead of him (Tronstad, Trav, JRC, Garrett) that allows more money to be available for a proper winger AND striker signing, then I can accept it.

The Sanderson signing, I’m pretty happy with. It’s a (much) lower level version of Sparky signing Savage, or Souness signing Friedel.

There’s nothing to be gleaned from what Plymouth fans say. He was playing for a shit manager in a team that was conceding a lot of goals. He’ll be joining a well drilled team that will plays in a totally different way.

It’s the same story from Norwich and Leeds fans tho.

Some comments from the Reddit announcement of Forshaw

Plymouth fan - A strange signing for Blackburn. Forshaw was like a Rolls Royce when he signed last January and you could tell he'd had recent Premier League experience the way he looked after the ball. For some reason the engine has gone since then and he's really struggled to get up to the pace of the Championship this season. I expected him to go somewhere like Barnsley. I'm  happy we've got a player we weren't using off the books, especially because he was on a big wage by our standards. If I was a Blackburn fan I'd be seriously questioning why they've signed a player who couldn't get in the worst side in the league.

Plymouth fan - If you give him a simple role where he doesn't have to break into a sprint or cover for anyone then he might do okay. His first touch and passing range is decent, but he's only got three gears.

Leeds fan - I’m surprised he had any engine at all after he left us, he was out for two years with a hip injury, he had to have teeth removed to help his recovery!

Leeds fan - I'm surprised he managed to play for you at all. There were times when we were doubting if he was real or a figment of our imagination.

Leeds fan - Great footballer . Obviously not sure if the legs are what they were so I’m sure Eustace knows that and has a plan for Adam . When we got relegated Adam Forshaw was one of only a few that never threw in the towel. Without the injury record he would have spent his career in the Prem .

@roversfan99 I’m going to have to push you for an answer, I know you like to do the same for others😉

Sanderson I dont mind too much as a squad player who both now and for the season is just cover. And I rate the player much more than Forshaw.

Forshaw is a really poor signing in a position where we need someone to play for the next month and then be immediate cover.

So to clarify, you are happy with both signings and feel they strengthen our chances of making the top 6?

firstly, Can you please answer this what is your opinion on Forshaw being a poor signing based on? thanks in advance

Our chances of making the top 6 will depend on who we sign as a striker signing and winger signing.

But would he have wanted those signings if we had even a reasonable and competitive budget?

do you know what our budget is for this window? do you?

If he's any good though seems odd Birmingham's new manager and owners don't rate him highly enough for a campaign in League 1.

I don't believe it is that, he apparently wasn't happy Eustace was sacked from what I have read... Not that he isn't good enough but more so for some reason he was really unhappy at Brum.
