To clarify, I meant depth in quality. Drafting an U18 in cos Hyam and Baath are injured is not depth.  If one or both of those two get injured we’re a bit fooked at present.

Mcfadzean is still at the Club isn't he, (?) and presumably that sort of eventuality is what he was signed for.

There has to be some real quality sitting on the bench at Premier League clubs desperately in need of games.

Championship clubs will be snapping them up on loan in January- will we?

They cost money, so no.

Was just about to post that. That’s him off the list. Then again, we couldn’t afford him.

He's out of contract in the summer, right?

I wonder if we could sneak ahead of his suitors and offer them a knockdown fee in January?

Should try and sign Poku regardless of injuries for the right price. A player clearly way too good for league 1.

If we could manage to sign him and James Hill that would a great window for us.

Its clear we need a striker in January so here are 2 suggestions that would cost not much(around £1m maybe)

Would anyone take a risk on Reading striker Sam Smith?

I notice that PNE striker Emil Riis is out of contract in the summer, could we get him?

Especially as hes scored a few goals lately for the first team really in years. There is zero chance of Preston selling us Riis for only £1m even with his contract not having long left, especially with them being relegation threatened.

Although £1m will likely be beyond us anyway.

PNE have a number of players out of contract this summer and some won't sign new contracts there so I think they might some a couple in order to raise funds for Heckingbottom to buy some of own players. They spent 1.7m on a winger who has never had a look in under Heckingbottom.

I think £1m for Riis is a bargain for us

Nixons story today is the club are arguing over who to appoint as the new chief scout.

Gestede wants a French or German head scout whilst others at the club have been talking with John Doolan who recently left Brighton

I’d go with who Gestede doesn’t want.

Jade-Jones the Peterborough young forward is supposed to be a good little player. Has pace and has been scoring a few.

Going a bit unnoticed down there. Could be one to look at.

Yes, he was close to signing for Sheffield united last window but it fell through last minute due to their takeover...I imagine competition will beat us to him.

Apparently John Doolan has been Brighton's "centre forward scouting manager" for just under 2 years.  during which time, they signed two centre forwards, Georginio Rutter & Joao Pedro (for a combined £80M)  who were both pretty stand out players in the Championship.  Not sure how much scouting they would have needed beyond owning a television 😉  Before that, he was with Everton for a few years, and their recruitment in recent years has been far from stellar.

Doesn't look like he was plucking unknown bargains out of Outer Mongolia or Timbuktu, which is likely the market Rovers will be reduced to

Daniel Dodds is another name Nixon mentioned. Has worked for Dortmund in the past

Dortmund's recruitment in general is good

His job role states he specialises scouting in the UK and Scandinavia,  Although it looks as though he moved to Dortmund after they signed Bellingham, and I can only see Maatsen as someone who they signed based on his "areas"

Knowing us we’ll sign the taekwondo lass instead.
