January Transfer window

Well we've signed 2 players in these 14 days haven't we? Didn't we sign someone really early on last Jan too??

I'm sure we've had targets in mind for a long time, but think about it. In that time our needs have changed & other teams' needs have changed; players in mind will have hit form & gone above budget or no longer be obtainable, or will have lost form & not be such good value, or have gotten injured.

Rovers don't exist in a vacuum where we can click our fingers to make things happen when we want them to. Unless we're not rolling in cash to splurge & in prime position to start off a domino effect of transfers - & under these owners we never will be - then unfortunately we often have to play a waiting game for the players we want to become available within whatever budget is allocated. Nearly every team in the division will be looking for a pacey winger & a freescoring number 9...

Yes of course and quite right. If only our current strikers would get their act together!

I wonder how much Scotty Sellars and Simon Garner would cost in this era. They would both be perfect just now.

They would be sold to the lowest bidder, to avoid the Play Offs.

Josh maja out for a several weeks at WBA. Just adding more completion for us to find a Striker.

At this rate I can see us getting that Danns from Liverpool - I think he's a good player mind but not the experience Eustace wants.

WBA have no money.

Also how much experience does Eustace want? We're collecting Dad's Army.

Given our minimal outlay over the last couple of years, the 2 incomings had better be permanent and for fees.

They won't be though. Expecting 2 journey man loans

.If the club had any ambition (we know they don't) they would be trying to agree a deal to  sign  Beck in the summer too.

We should be raiding L1 and L2 for all the best talent. I'd loan most of them back too until the summer - but we're quickly approaching a situation where everyone is nearing 30 and / or the end of their contract and there's no contingency plan.

What we don't need to do is pay Bamford and Wallace £20k+ a week.

The were willing to sell him in the summer, but couldn't agree terms with Celtic. I can't recall if it was £3m or £4m they asked for.

They'll still have enough to bring in decent loans and their wage bill will be a lot higher than ours.

You tell me, he seems happy with Wallace and Bamford.

Buckley is 25. He is not a young boy anymore. He has been given loads of chances and has never looked good enough. Potential and a brief period of playing ok one time isn't good enough. Get rid of him if we can get anyone to take him. He is going to fall down the leagues once he leaves rovers. He is a nothing player. The scary thing is we are forced to play him more often than we should due to injury, suspension or squad depth. He has found himself out of the squad multiple times and it is not like he has been kept out by the best of competition at times.

i don`t think mowbray did him any favours at the start of his career by continually picking him instead of kicking him up the **** and stating the importance of working off the ball

Wonder if Josh Koroma is someone we've enquired about - In his last 6 months.

Wouldn't say he's quick but has chipped in a few goals, I imagine he'll be in our budget.

Always felt he's one of those players who played well against us and ends the season on 10 goals.

Stats suggest played 6 Vs us, scored 1 assisted 1.

Can't imagine he's on big money

Two players that would be low on the priority list

where’s the scouting network across Europe?

Plymouth and Oxford have signed wingers for fees over 1million

Preston have bought a decent centre have for near couple million

striker is the hardest in the market no doubt but why not bid early doors see what we get? (Before you say how do you know we haven’t) it’s always reported if something official is offered

we seem to just react and are never proactive and if bamford is the best we can come up with then our recruitment team need their heads looked at! How would he pass a medical given he’s injured

it just reeks of zero ambition and zero care at all

pray we win tomorrow night because if we don’t the pressure will increase to no end on the recruitment department

They’d both be crap. Garner would be running around up front on his own looking for the occasional pass and Scotty would be playing on his “ wrong “ wing.

Yes we don't have many others who promise so much and deliver so little

Aside from our defence thats been a fantastic unit so far this season, he's the only one for me that's hunted the ball down and given 110% work rate. He might not be an out n out goal threat but you need guys like him on a team to get at the opposition and generally be a handful. I feel he's got more to offer and wouldn't want to see him go

Bamford would be a massive upgrade on our current striking options so I'd welcome him here. His injury record is appalling but if we could get a good half a season out of him then it could be a very smart move.

‘His injury record is appalling’

That’s enough to suggest no add to the fact that he is currently injured why should we put all our eggs in his basket?

as Iv stated before there has to be better options and if Eustace is adamant he’s the one then he needs his head looked at
