Sheffield United and Sunderland are bidding £10m plus £3m for Tom Cannon

Is that the guy you thought we had a chance of signing? Lol.

Just had a quick look online and it said there that Sunderland were prepared to commit  to two loan deals for players with obligations to purchase costing a total of £33m if they go up.

Meanwhile we've signed Adam Forshaw on a short term deal until the end of the season.

It'd be quite funny if it wasn't so sad and infuriating in equal measure.

'Keeping our powder dry' for our big CF signing. £1.75m on an out-of-favour bloke from Coventry would pretty much tick all those boxes.

We have a L1 budget.

Compare and contrast - Sunderland have an owner with deep pockets and a genuine desire to see them get promoted, and is working to try and achieve that within the constraints of FFP. This is how major business can be done without gambling the club's future or risking FFP trouble.

Rovers have owners who claim to have a desire to go somewhere and hide behind FFP but yet have simply avoided doing any business off the back of it.

One lot who clearly have no interest in spending and hide behind whatever excuse they can. Another lot who do whatever they can to invest within the restraints of FFP.

Straight up cash now? Not even a loan and then an agreed fee upon promotion?

Asante's goal scoring record is not that brilliant - 1 in 4 at Salford and West Brom, and now dropping to 1 in 25 at Coventry (!!!). Admittedly across those 25 games he's only played about 900 minutes so I guess more like 1 in 10 if we are being generous.

WhoScored.com is not that generous with it's assessment....

But but..........according to the Fans Forum Notes 25/11 Waggott was "in the process of requesting funding for the upcoming January transfer window".

Surely you're not suggesting our esteemed CEO would pull the wool over supporters' eyes?

“Dear Rao family…I think we need 50p to cover off January 2025. Love Steve”

I have to say, I’ve always liked Thomas Asante. Whenever I’ve watched him, he looks dangerous. He’s quick and mobile. Scares defenders.

Scored 11 in 39 last season, but seems to have fallen out of the team there. Limited to sub appearances and the team not doing well. Is better than anything we’ve got and could be a shrewd signing. Interesting.

Would actually be happy with this one, tbh.

He looked dangerous against us for WBA before.

His goal scoring record isn't much better than ghueye's this season.  At least ghueye is 6'4. He has 3 goals in 26 games. We're just stockpiling bang average forwards

Our owners have deep pockets but short arms ---sadly.

That was with a JDT defence in front of him. I’d have looked mildly threatening against that and I can’t strike a ball with my right foot

Surely to fuck the 'scouts' have more imagination than scouring English championship players.  There must be a hidden gem outside somewhere for that fee. It's like they've got a long list of championship players and throwing a dart at a name in the hope he'll turn out good.

Asante has scored one goal in 25 matches for Coventry which is about the same as Gueye's one in 24.

But Chaddy likes Asante so he must be good.

If we spend £1.75m on Brandon Thomas-A-fucking-sante, then I give up.

Could probably name 5 strikers off the top of my head, who you'd get way better value out of for that amount of money or less.

He doesn't bloody score! Good lord.

if he’s the number 9 then yea wave bye bye to the playoffs

Yes... looks like he is more of a winger signing to me.
