If you read the views of Coventry fans on BTA they're very similar indeed to Plymouth fans on Forshaw. "I'll drive him there", "are we paying them to take him?" Etc etc.

I didn't read much what blues fans said about Dion but presume some similar and Leeds fans have been exactly the same regarding Bamford.

Seems our strategy is to target out of favour players who may embrace being taken under the wing of Eustace and get back to their best. Could work, could be a disaster I suppose.

He does seem to get the best out of a number of players, Brittain being a prime example, he's arguably pushing for our player of the season IMO.

Every player we have has improved under Eustace apart from Dolan and Hedges I think.

What's happened to Pears, Brittain, Hyam and Travis under him has been truly remarkable. All have gone from being big question marks to top Championship performers.

I guess it's the impact of a well organised defence and team spirit.

He’s got “ scrum half pace “, he’s quick over 5-10:yards and then he’ll be getting caught. In rugby that’s all you need - make the line break and hand the ball over to the fast lads.

Dolan certainly knows how to pass it backwards, not many forward passes from him.

David Moyes once said

'Fellaini is vital. He's a modern day footballer. He's got brilliant chest control, taking it down with his chest, he's as good as anyone in the world and he's a good footballer.'

Mourninho also said

'I won a Europa League final with long balls from Sergio Romero to Marouane Fellaini. Ajax pressing, but pressing oxygen because the ball was not there. Ball to Fellaini’s chest. Play from there. Two-nil. Bring the cup home. Three titles. Disaster of a season.'

I think we can take some inspiration from the above with Gueye.  If we signed a fast left winger with crossing ability, and supplemented with Brittain overlapping and playing like he did last night then I can see us getting results from Papa

It wasn't actually.

"Did well under Eustace. Doesn't seem suited to the way we play now but wouldn't be a surprise if Eustace got him playing well again."

Leeds fans have hated Bamford for a couple of seasons at least now.

I know we desperately need a striker and a winger, but we need some cover for Beck too if Pickering isn't going to be back until March,

I have a feeling they would put Brittain out there though if Beck isn't available and use JRC or Sanderson at right back.

This. Didn't JE also mention the need for LB cover in a recent interview as well? It's definitely an important area. One injury or suspension to Beck and we are in trouble in that area of the pitch.

I’d rather go down the route of plundering the league below for potential than taking the risk of an injured once good player in bamford or an average looking Asante.

would love a double swoop on pboro for poku and jade jones, would solve our pace issue and they have big resale potential if they perform. Honestly don’t think we would be losing anything at anything under 8 for both of them. Gotta speculate to accumulate , if they fired us to the prem it’s a drop in the ocean, if they performed your looking at at least doubling your money.

Boy at Wigan would be my second choice.

its a Callum brittain type signing, players that are clearly too good for the league below

Asante over Bamford please

Absolutely.

As much as I don't really rate BTA, i'm starting to come around to the idea the more I think about his attributes... our attack is missing things that he has - and if anyone can get a tune out of him it's Eustace.

Bamford however, would be an absolute disaster all-around.

Are we willing to spend our extremely limited budget on a player who won’t be ready to play for us until March?

If he is good enough then yes, get another loan in if you really want but if said player is as good as he is meant to be then I have no problem in jumping in and snagging him before the competition catch on and we are out muscled at the auction

Exactly. Which is not particularly impressive anyway, and thats if you just ignore his record at Coventry.

But again, my posts on Thomas Asante are mixed, weighing up positives and negatives of which I listed both. You presumably agree with the pros, ignore them, attack the cons because you cant bear to admit that its not solely positive, and say "its my first port of call."

BTA would be quality signing for us for the reasons said yesterday. I've seen plenty of him to rated him highly as I do. His Coventry spell doesn't worry me

Because we needed a good midfielder, one to play while Travis is out and be immediate cover for him and Tronstad for the rest of a busy season. We instead signed a Plymouth reserve and bump Buckley up to do the role that Baker was doing, which is a big downgrade as he isnt good enough.

You are obsess with giving players labels

Is your opinion on the Forshaw signing purely positive?

Neither. More like wait and see. See what he does here.

Jade Jones? Based on what? What him against Everton first time I've seen him live and did nothing 1st half.

Thomas-Asante is a quality player at Championship level
