Nixon has a Rovers story tomorrow. I live for these moments.

Thomas-Asante deal is no longer an option after he scores winner today and we weren't prepared to go above 5k a week in wages is my bet

Garrett and Buckley at cm next game, wonder what the new lad from Birmingham's like at dm Mokoena mk2

I was thinking earlier if Sanderson could play in CM temporarily.

Eustace has built this team around being a string defensive unit and Tronstad is key to that, screening the back 4.

Sanderson, by his own admission, is a ball playing centre half, who loves to play a long "diag".

Him playing as a CDM would allow Buckley to push forward more and allow us not to play Forshaw.

Unless Sanderson has experience of playing well I'm midfield, those suggesting it may want to watch what happened to Rio Ferdinand when it was tried. Hint - David Bentley scored a hat trick.

The flip side is that John Stones was regularly playing CM successfully for City last season.

I haven't seen enough of Sanderson to know if he could do it but none of JRC, Buckley or Forshaw will provide the same level of defensive cover as Tronstad.

And maybe Ollie Rathbone for some defensive steel...

Seriously....

What I can see Pelly Ruddock seems out of favour...maybe a loan?

There cannot be ANY football club in the land that has to deal with this shit year in year out. Players and manager busting their balls, January comes all of them desperate for help and they get the middle finger from the owners. Their shitbag mates making excuses for them in early Feb ... rinse and repeat.

Been going on for season after season. Year after Year. Nowt will change until they are gone.

Break the bank and get Thelo Asgaard from Wigan.

£2.5m is hardly breaking the bank. Fan expectations have been dumbed down by corrupt, uninterested owners.

Aasgard is not what we need at this point in time. He's similar to what we have, we need pace/physicality and a striker that can score goals. Oh, and a LB and a CM.

Rio was shit no matter where he played though.

We are probably going to end the transfer window in midfield having lost Baker, having lost Tronstad maybe long term but having gained a past it Plymouth reserve.

I cant see us getting one but we badly need one.

The injury to tronstad will save waggott and the bluffers above

the narrative will be we didn’t expect to lose baker and we didn’t expect to lose tronstad so we had to react meaning our priority signings budget had ti suffer

these things are unfortunate but it was out of our control

something along those lines

I'd say we badly need two. But obviously thats even more unlikely. I'm aware there have been some positive comments about Buckley's recent performances and I haven't seen the last couple of games but, for me, we only have two top 6 quality central midfielders at the club (obviously, Travis and Sondre). The signing of Forshaw remains baffling to the extent that, effectively, we haven't replaced Baker. It's a mess. It always is with this lot. And all of this is aside from the perennial issue of our lack of a good quality striker.

Hey, let's wait and see what great signings are made in a couple of weeks time though, huh?!

I wasnt impressed by him midweek but he was certainly better today. That being said, his good play all came within a chunk of the middle of the game and he wasnt that impressive around that.

Either way, lets not fool ourselves into thinking that he is a player who should be a potential regular in a side with play off aspirations based on a solitary performance in a loss at Oxford.
