On the O'Brien link, Not for me, Our priorities should be striker and winger plus a left back. That where our focus should be and remain.

Travis is back in about a week or 2 weeks. Buckley hasn't played much this season but yesterday was his best games since his good spell under JDT first season.

Writing Forshaw off already, embarrassing.

JRC can play anywhere in the team and one of those position is centre midfielder

Where I have said this? is it clear we need another wide player in who can add abit quality or some pace. We need another striker so we can play different strikers for different games plus also Yuki Ohashi has just played full 12 months.

Haven't we appointed our new Chief scout or waiting for the new guy to work his notice.

When we were looking last time, Gestede posted the role on his linkedin. hasn't reposted it either,

So you are happy with potentially Travis when back, Buckley after one half decent game in 3 years and Forshaw for the forseeable? You think that is sufficient quality for a supposed top 6 push?

We need a midfielder AND those positions you mention.

O'Brien wont be coming here and even if he did, not sure he compliments Travis that well as neither naturally sit.

Haven't I just posted what we need as priority in transfers before the window ends?

I’m not sure I’d call £3m tiny, but I’d be very surprised if we spend that much. My best case scenario is a striker for £1m and a couple of players on loan.

It’s pointless discussing the £35m (or whatever we’ve received in the last 12 months) in conjunction with incomings as we all know that’s going on running costs.

Got called a Venkys stooge for suggesting this 🙄, but here goes.

I'm not particularly bothered whether we pay fees or not. At the £1 million for a forward level, I'd say there's more chance of picking up a better "free" transfer and putting the money towards wages, than buying a forward for 1 or 2 million.

That's unless you take a gamble on a lower league player.

If we're talking £5 million plus, that's a different matter, but realistically we aren't.

How far is Travis off returning? .. I’d try a temp change of formation for next game , bring Sanderson in play 3 at back , push Brittain an Beck further forward , Buckley as Quarterback JRC providing legs in midfield Cantwell and Dolan supporting Gueye up front

I think Saturday will force the hand of Rudy and co  - we will see movement this week of players in, whether the players are of any pedigree remains to be seen but the squad is clearly lacking in pace and quality and something needs to give

Think it is roughly about 2 weeks now. If we're lucky he'll make the squad for the Preston game.

No point having a brilliant striker if our midfield for the next few weeks is Forshaw and Buckley. Won’t be able to control a game. Would argue that CM is also a priority if Tronstad injury is as bad as suggested:..

Works both ways that no point in having a good midfield if we can’t score enough in the tight/big games

An Italian striker from Juventus. Hahaha. Somebody tell Balaji that Ravanelli left Juventus in 1996, please.

A lazy link to O'Brien and now a mention of Juventus in the wake of increasing fan unrest at the lack of transfer activity. They must think we were born yesterday.

vlahovic has declared his love for east lancashire and will sign next week🤩

You surely wouldn't want to reference O'Brien ever again if you were trying to pull the wool over people's eyes?
