I am told by a friend of mine who works in a back office role at Fulham that we have been asking (with several others) about the availability of Martial Gobo. Apparently we enquired in the summer and were knocked back but he has since signed a new long term contract and can go out on loan only. I have no idea which of our lists he appears on (if any) and had never heard of the lad until about an hour ago !

Please don't shoot the messenger

He was lined up to sign for us on loan in the summer, but they couldn't get the Nelson deal over the line in time (they eventually signed him) so held onto Godo just in case.

The lack of money being spent and ambition shown is absolutely tragic.

The talk about "having to let people go to buy" is terrifying.

O'Riordan, McFadzean, Garrett, Markanday.

I bet their wages don't even cover one of the Leeds' players wages, yet we're we have to shift them on to create any wiggle room.

In terms of opportunity to spend in this window, Rovers could match Sheff Utd if the owners wanted to.

Our owners are unimaginably wealthy, we have a massive FFP opportunity right now which will soon dwindle away due to the rolling 3 year rule. We could buy 5 really good players this window and be within the allowed spending limit for the current FFP period.

It's not a matter of having more cash it's a matter of having more ambition/interest/willingness/love for the club.

It's all its ever come down to.

Love of the club and love of the people that spend their hard earned cash getting there.

Andy Bayes has confirmed on twitter as expected Mcfadzean is talking to another club. Garrett and O'Riodran will be going back out on loan.

Obviously as even more expected he said nothing about incomings.

There’s actually 4/5 players at Oxford I’d happily take without question so not sure why you keep referencing ‘newly promoted Oxford’ that’s irrelevant

agreed here, I would have taken Dembele, Placheta, Goodrham and Brannagan

It was January 2023 that JDT realised that it wasn't on the agenda.

JDT and GB couldn't get Undav over the line and didn't have a back up plan.

As for Dembele / Oxford I am of the view that Oxford is now a more attractive prospect for a potential player in terms of finances and professionalism. They will conduct themselves in a manner befitting of a Championship football club and will be paying wages commensurate with this level.

The transfer committee wouldn't agree on Dembele signing here

Lewis O'Brien has essentially been dismissed in the LT with the usual line of "prioritising the budget for a striker and winger."

It cant be either or. A normal club with an ounce of ambition looks at it and the owners release more funds for an extra midfield signing knowing that the landscape has changed with Tronstad now injured and Baker having returned.

Not here. It cant be either attackers or midfield. Even if we sign attacking reinforcements, such a strong part of our team has been massively damaged. But just make do with a Plymouth reserve.

how many more signings cos we make when we have only so many spaces within the 25 man squad rules?

the squad already

Pears, Toth, Hilton

Brittain, Hyam, Carter, Sanderson, Batth, Pickering, Beck, Wharton(do we include him?)

Forshaw, Travis, Tronstad, JRC, Buckley

Hedges, Dolan, Cantwell, ACD, Weimann, Sigurdsson,

Gueye, Ohashi, Leonard(doesn't have to be register)

So that's 23 players so unless we sell Sigurdsson or someone else leaves? its max of 2 signings unless its a permanent signing under 21 signing.

I know Sheff Utd have a lot more cash than us but what a difference in approach.

"We want 5, I expect 5 in"

JE "I dunno what's happening but I'm sure the recruitment team are working on it"

Cos they have just been takeover by new owners and have the money from the parachute payments. They are about to sign right back Kenny on 4 and half year contract

Has no-one told these Clubs doing business now that all the decent players only ever move on the last day of the window?

I said the last couple of weeks of the transfer window and you seen today there is a pick up and clubs making their moves for certain players

As things stand we need to keep Garrett.

John Eustace is 'hopeful' Sondre Tronstad's hamstring injury won't be serious but Blackburn Rovers are still awaiting the full results from his scan.

The midfielder was an early casualty against Oxford United and lasted only half an hour. With Lewis Travis still out, Rovers fans have been fearing the worst.

The head coach will not be able to give an exact timeframe until after the game on Tuesday night with the club still waiting on the official results.

"Obviously, Sonny came off on Saturday. We're still waiting on the results of his scan," Eustace said.

"He won't be involved, you know, certainly tomorrow. So we'll have to wait and see. We haven't got any fresh issues, that I can think of.

"I'd like to say a couple of weeks, but I couldn't tell you. Usually they're about six weeks, aren't they? We'll just have to wait and see. I can't give a time frame on it until I get the results."

Our owners are billionaires and we have no FFP concerns.

Why aren't we spending any money and just signing loans and cast offs?

Eustace confirmed we did made a bid for one player and that appears to Brandon Thomas-Asante. Just confirmed by Eustace in his pre match conference, so its look like we have some money to spend
