It’s quite telling that even resident jackanory merchants like Tommy and Mercer can’t even be arsed this window peddling their lies, although that might not necessarily be a bad thing…..

Not heard anything from Mercer for months, I do hope the lad is ok and happily picking up his big wins and enjoying the fine dining and wines in the Ribble Valley. Very unusual that he hasn’t posted predicting easy wins and I hope he is posting such rubbish again, soon.

Yep, never known it so quiet on the rumour mill.

The lack of actual links, from anywhere  be they credible or downright bs, would tend to suggest we're not that active.

Most tellingly, having seemingly been told there was some money to spend originally, the manager seems less and less confident about it, and more and more deflated about the situation with every interview which suggests even he no longer believes there'll be any worthwhile incoming activity.

The club are trying to create a narrative about an injury crisis.

That would tend to suggest new bodies are needed even more urgently than before the injuries occurred . And they were critical to our chances even before that.

What do we reckon - more cheap short term deals or loans to plug the gaps caused by injury at RB and midfield whilst the original "priority" positions of pacy winger and striker ( which would entail shelling out decent money) are conveniently forgotten about and remain unaddressed?

Followed by much crowing about having made 4-5 "new signings" on Feb 3rd?

Guys, new poster, but observer for sooooo long. I had the privilege of meeting Jack Walker on numerous occasions. I grew up playing for Jack’s other team in Jersey. He made me fall in love with a club with his passion and love for his hometown club. I love this club and I’ll never moan about a single player (ok I will) but this is all on them.

First Tower? I’m also a Jersey boy 👍

now we know why parke left

compiles a list of decent players we need and can afford, gets told by waggot that we ar`nt bothering to sign anyone in january,***** off because there is no point in working here  with that directive

i think parke was the only one on the recruiting team that had decent contacts and knew what he was doing

Expand

The remainder of the recruitment team will be compiling lists of players with pretty looking stats. Maybe attach a YouTube compilation for good measure. On the off chance we get the okay from Waggott nobody will have a clue how to make it happen, until Rudy pops up with the genius idea off popping said target a DM on Instagram to see if he fancies it.

They think (using this term in the loosest way possible) that everyone else is as thick as they are. Granted, there is a large contingent that is.

Expand

I wouldn't call them thick but they certainly seem to think enough of the fan base are to get away with it.

Obvious examples that spring off the top of the head recently are Waggot trying to con everyone about the sale of the training ground, the incorrect narrative that sprung up from somewhere that the V's had to pay "double" if sending money over and Rudy trying to crack on that the reason we couldn't spend money was we only received incoming fees in installments.

Amazing how one person just randomly saying someone is signing with no context and anyone believes it.

I took it as a somewhat tongue in cheek comment in light of the new injury situation rather than hard info tbf.

Seriously, this is dire isn't it? The clock ticking and even the rumour mill isn't churning out any names. Another shot at promotion spurned, another year goes by.

As a 60-year long-time supporter the feeling is no longer one of anger but one of sadness and resignation. We were thinking of going to the forthcoming QPR away game but probably won't now. It's all well, so depressing and pointless.

Fear not! I'm sure there will be another last minute, desperation, Billy Koumetio-esq loan before the transfer door closes firmly in our face.

Now people are resorting to the incredibly tired and overused “Just spotted X “famous player” jokes that haven’t been funny since the second time it was made. This really is a bad window
